If AD and Bron overplay themselves the Lakers can probably win some of those games. But that will be heavy minutes for Lebron and AD and once again Lebron will have to play an entire quarter. Really shameful that this is acceptable again this season.

If it's true that Darvin Ham said he was depending on talent during his tenure with the lakers, then it shocks me that an NBA coach would think that way. My goodness, every NBA team has talent -- and loads of it. As LeBron is so fond of saying, "it's putting in the work" that wins games. The hiring of Ham only goes to show that some coaches are better as assistants, better at taking commands than giving them.

Want to win a championship, well you essentially got to be a Top 3 seed in your conference to have any chance. Only one 4-Seed has ever won a championship (1969 Celtics) and the last 4-Seed to even make the Finals was the 2018 Cavs, a 5-Seed has only been in the Finals twice and lost both of them (2020 Heat and 2024 Mavs), the 1995 Rockets are the lowest seed ever to win it all (6-Seed), a 7-Seed never made the Finals, and the 8-Seed have been to the Finals twice and lost both of them (1999 Knicks and 2023 Heat); man that 2019-20 season was so painless and worry free, we would only trip when they lost a marquee game lol

Can we get over Darvin Ham saying a nice thing about Jalen Hood-Schifino at training camp last year? Coaches praising rookies for hard play and putting in the work in practice is done all over the league without folks assuming it means more than that. I can realistically see us going 7-3 but 6-4 won't be too bad. Lakers drop one of two vs. PHX, maybe lose to SAC (current losing streak), and lose to PHI. MEM is a toss up of course. But the Lakers should be able to pull at least 3-2 in that five game roadie.

First five games 1-4. Second five 4-1. So 5-5 It will take at least 5 games for Lakers to figure out where they should be on the court under JJ system. We could go 4-6 since most players are used to standing around behind the arc. They might get lost if they're going to move around.

Without a decent center as backup and lack of depth when we rotate from our starters, we will have trouble winning games. Then add to that a probable injury to either bron or ad at some point is going to make us a 5 or 6 seed at best, but unlikely a title contender.
