Let's not overrate Max after a few good games now. I just don't want the fanbase to turn on him just as quick after he has a couple of bad games, like most young players do. Love him on our team, one of the few i will not question the effort of, but truth is he's still young and this is his first (real) time playing against high quality opposition, last couple of years he ran against the end of bench guys most of the time

Dorian Finny Smith MUST be our main target, It almost makes too much sense. Expiring deal, his age, the Nets tanking, his archetype & as well as our team needs. There is barely any other 3&D wings available... not even in free agency, they are valuable in this league. The Nets will need a little draft compensation if we're adding years to their books but that expiring deal should keep the cost down a bit. They also might wait til february to pull the trigger. Edit: I know 'Get a Center'...and i agree but we're talking about a Center that wont start in most games.

The point is to get a legit CENTER to take the pressure off banging down low from AD and let him play his natural position of PF. Doing this would solve so many issues that we have, especially defensively. Get a center, that is and should be the only priority

@ You guys are not paying attention at all. This was the plan years ago but LeBron is 40 years old now. You cannot expect him to play SF. We actually currently have a triple Power Forward lineup with Rui and it’s not great, Rui can’t guard SF either. The only saving grace is AD is a top tier defender who can play the 5 but he’s gonna slow down too in a few years, if not already. There’s a reason Jaxson or Woods has hasn’t been starting whilst they were available and lastly JJ recently said he’s not interested in the double big lineup. So yes, not the priority but still a team need. The big will likely get played off the court, just like we did to Jonas everytime we saw him last year. We are looking for a Backup, who can play starter like minutes with AD/Lebron separately but also hold his own alone. In one or two matchups like the Nuggets we will make that adjustment, which is why this need can’t be the priority.

Please be advised the $8million spot is a trade ready contract. KJ Martin got the same deal in Philly, play good and you can get packaged for a better franchise piece up the road. Play so so and its because you were a good dude with potential that had earned a decent payday. A win win for FO. Max is being hyped to lift his profile and value, he is not tearing anything up, but I get the FO long term plan. Side note, If Max and AR went in a Murray trade you can get the leading rookie of the year candidate D4 back in the starting line up. Still have DLO for another move with Gabe or keep both as your bench backcourt.

Knecht drops 35 and allows 50. He's better as a microwave scorer right now. If he doesn't have it, he needs to be benched. Every game get him his run and see how he shoots. If he's shooting, keep him in until his legs fall off. But he's such a negative on defence, unless he's scoring 20+, he's just not playable. Do you think Knecht could've defended Ja Morant the way Christie did? Nah, Bane and Morant and even Wells would have their way. Shoot, Kennard babied him. I love Knecht's upside but at the moment he's an offensive player only. If his offence isn't showing up, he's got nothing to give.

Obviously if Lonzo was healthy go and get him, but he’s missed 84% of the possible 273 games (played in only 45/273) since 2021-22 (nearly 3.5 yrs!) and this yr in 10 games (of 27 possible) he’s averaging only 17.6 MPG 5.7 3.8 3.2 1.7 stocks 34.6% FG% 32.6% 3P% The assist/stock numbers per minute actually pretty good, but efficiency horrific and again the odds of him staying healthy and getting back to his career numbers pre injuries (12, 6, 6, 2.4 stocks & still not good 40/36/58 though 20-21 & 21-22 before injured was just becoming pretty solid at 14, 6, 5, 2.3 stocks on 42/39/77 over 90 game sample…that was also 3+ yrs ago pre many bad injuries) are slim to none. Lonzo himself has even said “I’m never going to be that same player again or something to that effect. Still incredible Lakers had 3 straight #2 picks 2015/16/17 and could of had Porzingis/Booker (went #4 & #13) Jaylen Brown (went #3 to Celtics) Tatum (went #3 to Celtics) Yet instead got D-Lo Ingram Lonzo Everyone talks about Lakers great drafting bc they’ve had some good picks (especially later in draft or undrafted Caruso Reaves Pippen Jr), but conveniently leaves out they picked the wrong guy #2 THREE straight yrs including 2x allowing #3 to go to Celtics to form one of the best wing duos EVER!🤮

Trevor, the reality is the guards are horrible defenders. DLO and Reaves was always the issue defensively together. That’s why the Lakers standing firm on not getting rid of Reaves was a bad move. If your back court can’t guard then you’re always going to have this issue. Reaves and DLO have always been bad defenders.

9:18 If, Lebron being healthy and resting would be the Key moving forward, the Lakers need to apart with Lebron as soon as possible. For example, if the Lakers need to play 5+ games in the playoff to go next round, how will the Lakers choose Lebron when to play and to rest? If he plays all 5+ games straight, he will most likely be exhausted and probably not able to play 1~2 games of next round or, we let Lebron play 2~3 games then rest whether the Lakers winning or losing in the playoff? We all know playoff defense is a lot higher level, therefore Lebron will get tired quicklier. This is why I'm more on getting a 3rd future 2nd star over roll players. Roll players just can't take off the burden. A star and a center would be my choice when the Lakers decide to make trades.

I would promise you if the lakers trade Lebron that championship window is close. Let’s say they send him to the warriors or Cavs. Those teams ain’t giving the lakers anything back valuable because Lebron is a expiring and he is 40. You also can’t trade someone that have a trading clause unless they ask to be traded. The reason why lebron is so tired in games is because this team ask him to carry 4 bench players when AD is off the court. Imagine Jokic starting the 2nd quarter with 4 bench players he would obviously be tired especially when his bench is trash. The trade that the lakers need is Dorian finney smith and Cam Johnson. These are two athletic wings who can play defense. This can lessen Lebron role defensively and have reliable shooters. If Vando doesn’t come back by trade deadline trade him for a center. A star would be asking the lakers to give up everything not name AD and Lebron and when a team already have a bad bench they can’t afford to trade everyone

A possible trade I’d look at is Ayo, Vuc, Craig and THT, for Wood, JHS, Dlo, and Gabe and Max Lewis. THT is on a non guaranteed contract if cut by like Jan 15 (maybe 10th?). The Lakers could effectively open 2 spots and free up salary while adding depth snd a new backcourt starter in Ayo. Vuc can greatly improve bench scoring and mix well with AD when they share the floor (assuming Vuc buys into a bench role). Vuc can operate as a hub, keep the offense consistent, allow you to add Fultz as your backup guard to initiate the offense and apply rim pressure. If Vando is healthy and off the bench still he and max, plus Fultz, could mitigate defensive woes for Vuc.

JJ Redick is doing the same as Darvin Ham with the lineup juggling. He’s no offensive or defensive genius. JJ is a amateur or novice at coaching. Lakers will not make Playoffs for this reason. He can juggle the lineup all he wants but the results will be the same. At best the Lakers are a Play In team at 7 or 8 seed. LeBron and AD can’t carry the team. It’s just plain coaching the problem and the Lakers have no coach. “Emperor’s New Clothes” Lakers are totally exposed and everybody can see it but them.

Why not sign Javale McGee who is a free agent. You can sign him as a vet minimum. He stays in shape and you can play AD at the 4 and have a rim protector. It's a very low risk move
