JJ letting AD and LBJ get fouled at the end was a risk as they are both only OK free throw shooters. AR is usually the choice but he was just 2 for 5 at the line that night which is bad. JJ could have taken a chance on Dalton but he’s a rookie. That leaves Dlo. In hindsight Dlo should have been picked to go to the line at the end.

Team loss. AR's missed FTs were a bad sign. AR's the team pet, Dlo's the scapegoat, both lousy defenders, last night lousy shooters (6-22, 2-11.) Non-existent bench. Lack of seriousness at the FT line. Lakers frequently exhibit overconfidence in games -- for no reason at all. AD's the only consistent two-way player on the team. Give Cam more minutes -- he plays defense, he shot well, he's doing what they ask. DK a bright spot. Bron got monster rebounds and he and AD played their asses off -- except at the line. Big bummer loss.

When they went up 10 in the fourth i expected JJ to bench Dlo and bring reddish to protect the lead. JJ let the team down by playing Dlo and Reaves together for so long in the fourth. They kept targeting Dlo on offense.

Here's the thing about Dlo yes his confidence is gone but also his rhythm. There's a world of difference between being a number one option or number 2 say. Or being a 3rd 4th and 5th option. Kyle Kuzma showed us this when LeBron or AD was out he'd always score well. Thats the thing though the Lakers have no tried and true role players that can be the last option even and still hit a shot when they need to. Not so easy.

The fact nearly 40 year old LeBron has lead the lakers in rebound like 4 of the last 6 games or something like that is embarrassing. This is on Pelinka for so many diff reasons. He gave away Zubac for no reason in 18-19 season and he’s one of the best rebounders per minute in the NBA (3rd in the NBA period at 12.4 per game along with 15-16 PPG, 2-3 APG, and nearly 2 stocks per game). Also let Jay Huff and Pippen Jr walk who avg nearly 7 RBG this year for Memphis in 38 mpg combined. Also let Caruso walk for no reason (which kills their perimeter defense). Also low balled DeRozan yrs wise just like Ty Lue in 2019 and Caruso in 2021. Also didn’t trade 27/29 firsts and Westbrook for Turner & Hield (or 27/29 1s + Reaves for Kyrie at 2023 deadline). Also passed on Jaquez Jr and Trayce Jackson Davis at 17/40 in 2023 draft who help rebounding as well! TJD averages 5.1 RBG for Warriors in only 17 mpg! Jaquez jr this year averaging 6 RBG in 23 mpg!

Bench scoring is horrid. Rebounding is horrid. In any given night AR OR Dlo play poorly. Missed free throws wouldn’t be significant if these other issues were resolved. Still could have won comfortably if rebounding and bench production was there.

Magic have a lot of Length and They played Super Physical however, We had: 1) Poor FT Shooting - 65% 2) Low Bench Scoring - 14Pts and 3) Poor Shooting from AR & D’Lo!!! We need 15+ each from D’Lo & AR and Cam should’ve played more minutes and D’Lo/MaxC less minutes down The Stretch.

Benching Dlo killed his confidence. Reaves should be the 6th man of this team because he's a worse ball handler and shooter than Dlo. When Rui gets back he should be with the 2nd unit with Austin. Starters should be Dlo Knecht Reddish James Davis. Perfect mix of shooting, scoring, ball handling, play making and defense

We learned that JJ Ham and his coaching staff are still clueless about defense so the Lakers couldn't get stops the entire game. His decision to give AD the last shot after he missed 3 free throws was abysmal; it should've been LBJ or even the rookie Dalton. AR and Dlo are a horrible backcourt, they should be coming from the bench or even better Lakers need to trade them + Max + Rui + Vanderbilt (who never plays anyway) + Gabe for a real big but no one wants them!

Austin wasn’t getting any calls and he let it get to him. He’ll bounce back. Dlo im not so confident about. AD just cant miss both of those fts at the end. That was bad. But he’s having an unbelievable start to this season so I’m not going all negative on him. This type of loss happens to every team. Just take out Denver and this game will be overlooked. If not this game will look like a spiraling moment.

Yes missed FT cost the game. But the game shouldn’t have been that close. They didn’t have Banquero and were on a back to back, losing to Clips. Big picture: Lakers give up WAY too many points. Team defense is terrible. Near bottom of league. This is a .500 team after the road trip, unless something major changes on defense.

Frankly i seriously wonder if the team has a sports therapist. These players should be in therapy with the best that LA has to offer. The way these guys are clearly in their heads around ft's and how much it affects their headspace after the game...these guys are supposed to be the best in the world.
