After filming 'Tornado' on the Cumbrian Coast I decided to spend a few hours at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway before setting off for Ais Gill to film the return. The video is filmed around the delightful Newby Bridge Halt with the exception of the last scene which is at the southern tip of Lake Windermere with the train just having departed from lakeside. The locomotive on duty is 1942 bulit Bagnall no. 2682, 'Princess'

A very nicely presented video, Austin. That was some whistle for such a small loco!

Thanks Mike, the lorry I could have done without, good job most of the train had passed. It actually came to a halt alongside me as two cyclists who had stopped to look at the train were blocking the road.

I like the person in the boat waving in the last clip. At least, I hope they were just waving. And an interesting sheep as well.

+acw71000, The next time I go to the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, I would like to go on Princess, because I've never been on her before. I've been to the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway about 13 times now and every single time I go, I'm always stuck with the blue AB tank engine, Repulse and Victor! (I also went on Cumbria, back in 2008, but she's not at the LHR anymore; she's now at the Battlefield Line!) I would also like to go on one of the Fairburn tank engines, because I've never been on either of them. Mascott

Thanks, yes there is always something to annoy, when I looked at the shot earlier there was a car parked by the large tree, thought I had cracked it when it moved!

They might have been sinking and were trying to attract attention! The sheep, I believe is a Herdwick, the native breed of the Central and Western Lake District ( I've probably set myself up for a massive fall there)
