The one and only Lalgudi. What a beautiful composition. It sounds like the lyrics come from his violin.

It is strange that Lalgudi Jayaraman s concerts are not available to the music lovers as well as students as after his death his family has chosen to block out all great concerts and hardly anything is available .A great disservice to the great artist who lived to perform and teach .

Thank you for posting this! This is an indescribably sweet rendition of an outstanding composition of Saint Thyagaraja! Cannot believe that someone can make an instrument sound so soothing. The instrumental musical landscape is enriched by the towering presence and contribution of Shri Lalgudi Jayaraman along with other stalwarts like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, the great Rajaratnam Pillai, and Sheik Chinna Moulana and too many more to list. What is terrific about Shri Lalgudi Jayaraman's music is that it is as beautiful as it is a guidepost for those who wish to learn. It is like a super-master extremely detailed and high quality rendition that one can learn from if one has the essential characteristics of a student (humility, persistence, and desire for perfection) coupled, of course, with God's Grace.

Lalgudi sir's creativity in so many sangathis in the pallavi. In each sangathi also there are so many tiny variations. His style is very expressive. And that bow -- Can you tell where one stroke begins and another ends? And thank you I was wondering if it was Maruku or marugu. He also introduced the starting from Da rather than Pa so that it doesn't sound like Suddha Dhanyasi at the start.

Thank you for posting one of the master pieces by the geniuses🌷🙏 Rasikas, I leave you to determine who else could have enhanced with crystal clear strokes on the mridangam so beautifully for the soulful rendition what a vocalist could not possibly do...but on the violin played meticulously, filled with numerous modulations and rich nuances🎶 I urge the person who uploaded the music to list credit notes and acknowledge the co-artists who had shared the stage

Dear Ravi, I would most happily do so, however I have o such information, I simply found the music to be so beautiful, and shared it on this platform many years ago. Ive only recently been able to sign back in.. If you could provide me with that information, i would more than happily add it to the title/description.

@abhJOKA . No brother its not my opinion, but the word is "marugElara" which means to hide in Telugu. As already said by @TheRaghuv there is no word "marukElara" in Telugu. Thyagaraja swamy is asking Lord Rama why he is playing hide and seek with him. Thanks.

@iwanurreply: I completely agree with you. Please correct the title, it is 'marugelara' not 'marukelara'.
