This cruise excursion was not what I expected. I mingled with bees, leaned about chocolate, and even saw a crocodile in the wild. Cozumel was the first port stop on my Margaritaville at Sea Islander cruise from Tampa to Cozumel and Progresso.

I honestly just assumed that Margaritaville at Sea was a dump of a cruise line, and thought they just did 2-3 night sailings to Nassau and back. However, after seeing your videos, I am pleasantly surprised at how nice the ship is. Thank you for sharing, as you have totally changed my opinion of this cruise line. This was a great marketing move by MAS to have you onboard to share your cruise with all of us. Thank you for your great information as always!

Paradise out of West Palm is the one that does those short short cruises and that ship has TERRIBLE reviews. The one out of Tampa, the Islander, is new and has much better reviews.

Tony, My husband is all "I've been to Cozumel- I don't need to go back" and then he watched this video and admitted some things may have changed since 1991. He also is looking into the Islander as a valid ship to go on! it looks great!

I did this same excursion 2 years ago, also while traveling solo, and really enjoyed it. I had planned to stay on the ship in Cozumel, but made some friends onboard and they invited me along. It was so interesting to learn about the different bees and see the east side of the island. I was also just at the Barriecito last month on a cruise excursion (Carnival Legened) for a Traditional Mexican Christmas that was a lot of fun. Keep up the great videos!

Ah, the Melipona Bee, which is unique to Mexico and is the only bee that can pollinate the Vanilla Orchid. Cozumel, one of our FAVORITE port calls! AND you went to the Mayan Bee Sanctuary, so cool! Their honey IS really special(tasty too) and they make lozenges that have some really good medicinal benefits! Can't wait to get back to Cozumel when we sail on the Carnival Miracle out of Tampa at the end of November! Enjoy the warmth! 😉

Great job, Tony! As I have said before, you do this so well. We honeymooned in Cozumel in 1979 and have been back many times. Needless to say, it was very, very different in 1979. Although we loved watching your stop on Cozumel, it makes me a little sad to see how the tourists are separated from the locals and the real Cozumel we’ve known. I believe it has to do with the more recent violence and danger in Mexico. I have always felt safe, but I think things have changed. Maybe if lucky, I will see this reverse in my lifetime. Gracias!

We did the Mayan Cacao tour a few years back on a Disney cruise and I have to say my biggest disappointment was that that we can't get their chocolate in the US. It was so interesting to see and taste the difference between their chocolate and what we get here in the US. We didn't do the honey tour on that trip, but on the smaller Mayan ruins there which was fascinating. Stepping two steps off of the path looked like the very last time anyone would see you, the jungle right there was so thick and beautiful. Thanks again, Tony, for another great cruising video!

Whenever we have a stop in Cozumel, we rent a jeep and head to the east coast. Its usually completely empty and feels more authentic

We did that same Excursion last year while sailing on the MSC Seashore. We enjoyed it very much! On the cruise on the Seascape we did the Margarita making class excursion at the Mayan Cacao Company and it was great experience!

Tony, I was today year's old finding out that there are bee's without stingers. I'm allergic so I would never have signed up for that excursion. Now that I know.... Lot's of sample's along the way on this excursion. Thank you for this.

Jewel of the Sea is a blast from my past. My first ever cruise. Out of Harwich in England via Cork in Ireland and up to the Norwegian Fjords. Can’t remember when but before I retired.

That looked like a great experience! Always interested in the past and how it plays into the present. Combine that with good food and maybe a little booze and I'm in! I also really appreciated the look into the gift shops. That is something you don't see much, and yet I find it to be one of the best parts of every tour. Stingless bees do have stingers, they're just so small they can't sting humans. They will bite you, though! I did this same excursion in 2023 and loved it!

An idea for a topic of discussion Top 10 things inconsiderate PAX do that annoy other PAX 1. Let their cabin door slam behind them. 2. Drag their balcony furniture in the wee hours. 3. Run in stateroom hallways. 4. Shout and talk loud in stateroom hallways. 5. Smoke on balcony. 6. Play TV and music loud in room. 7. Jump in front of people in line. 8. Get in Elevators before others have got out. 9. Flush toilet at 4am. 10. Eat in elevators and then touch buttons.

We did that exact excursion on our Celebrity cruise last March. Had the BEST drink ever at the chocolate place. There Chocolate Margarita will be tough to beat.

We've done the Lucha Libre excursion and had a great time! When I saw the taco station, I was like that looks like when we had tacos at the Lucha Libre excursion. Glad you confirmed was the place I thought it was.

When that was part of our excursion, we got to go to the bee sanctuary but we did not get to go further into seeing the bee processors due to time. They didn't even have us try the honey which would have been nice. We first saw one of the Mayan ruins inland for Cozumel which took most of our time. I did get to see the black coral along with buying some of their honey. The huge bee statue was nice. I don't know what the point is visiting a place when there's not enough time to see the whole place.

I've done this excursion and as a Beekeeper, I love the educational aspect of it. Another interesting thing is that male bees (European Honey Bee) have no stingers either. If you've been stung, it was a female Bee.

Wish I could have told you about our favorite spot in Cozumel. We always go to Ponchos Backyard ! At least 3 times . Best chips /salsa and margaritas. Hope you get to visit them sometime.
