Oh, all of this. I sobbed. But to be fair, my end of September was marked with my dad going in for a routine surgery and then getting the text from my mom that there was a problem. The good news is that, while there was a problem, the outcome was as good as we could hope for and he's fully recovered and fine. But man, I feel for Captain.

I am from Charleston SC & an avid cruiser. Platinum on Carnival & five Royal Caribbean cruises. You are absolutely right. Charleston quit Carnival. It's the transient BIG Money transplants along with a few original Charlestonian SELLOUTS that screwed this relationship up with Carnival. We true Charlestonians are disgusted with this selfish decision not to renew the contract with Carnival 😡

With older animals, usually the vet is cautious about surgery because they have to put them to sleep. Rest in Peace Bug Naked. FOUR - I have 4 cruises planned. I've been cruising almost exclusively with Royal Caribbean and am a Diamond, however, their prices annoyed me so I'm branching out to MSC and NCL. I am very excited about going on Icon of the Seas next year for a milestone birthday present, but I can't see myself spending $4k for a standard balcony repeatedly, so until prices comes down, I'll be sailing with the less expensive cruise lines and looking for deals! I can relate to Captain Kate and have empathy as I lost two of my dogs this year, one just a couple of weeks ago.

We sailed out of Charleston on the Sunshine. It was a great port city to visit before and after the cruise. The old city center is very walkable and they have free buses running in and around the city.

As someone in an electric wheelchair they can be difficult to drive. I recently broke 2 toes when my chair took off and bent my foot under one of the front wheels. I have to say I was aa bit tipsy and had removed my foot rests, but the motors are so powerful they take a lot of stopping when the chair is in drive

Only one cruise in my life and it was out of Charleston- it was a carnival cruse years ago on a ship built in Finland in 1981 - it was its last sailing very Disco like - li was fun

I try every year to stay awake till midnight, it rarely happens. 😊. Bug naked was definitely a celebrity on the ship and internet. Had many followers. This while Capt Kate is herself recovering from surgery. Difficult end of 2024 for her. ❤ As always thank you for all you do ❤

Poor Captain Kate! I am Beyond sad that Bug Naked has crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to dental care. I almost lost my 17 year old cat when she went in for dental care - thankfully she came out but is now deaf due to the “incident”. Condolences to Captain Kate.

And if you are wondering if it hurts: why yes, yes it does! 😳 Hubby and I have three cruises booked in 2025: one in Feb up the coast of Queensland; one long one around Japan in April and then another long one in November in various Asian countries. Both Asian cruises will be with HAL. 😊

We have cruised out of Charleston many times. We live nearby, and the short cruises were an easy get-away. No long drives or flights. Don't understand why Charleston, a tourist city, would want to eliminate a source of income. The cruises were not at all disruptive to the area. We'll miss the option.

Three trips for me so far. Mexico on the Firenze in Jan. then off to Hawaii on the Grand Princess that’s at the end of March. And the last one so far will be on the Discovery to Alaska in June. I might make another trip , but i have a fund raising bike ride for the Arthritis foundation in September. Rides from San Francisco to LA. Hopefully i can get my old body in shape to ride that , motivation at the ships gyms while cruising ?/??

We sailed out of Charleston in November (1st & Last Apparently). It was OK. Boarding was a little strange. You were bused from parking to one building and then were bused to a 2nd building to finish check in then you boarded Ship. Debarkation was 1 Bus ride so better. Got 1 booked for 2025 at this point.

I sailed out of Charleston in October and i was underwhelmed. Carnival needs to do better upkeep of those older ships. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness across the board. The food was just ok, certainly not my best Carnival trip
