Are there mobility scooters that can be rented on most islands?
@Reed-2big7 ай бұрын
@@karenwebb8358 I’ve never seen them. It’s probably cheaper to bring your own! 2 trips with a rental from the cruise-line can pay for one. Before I bought one I rented one at home for peanuts I think. It was the transformer, it fold by itself! Well it drains the battery for you! But, it fold about the size of a carryon. And yes it will go through a regular cabin door! Most of the very long piers, in the Caribbean, do have a shuttle statement to get down them, some charge.

Tony, I have enjoyed your videos for a little over a year. Mainly I watch the ones where you are in your studio and sharing cruise news with us. My husband died last week, and the loneliness is overwhelming at times. At first, I couldn’t watch anything. My mind wasn’t ready for it. Then I found your videos on your excursions in Barbados, Antigua, and one other. I will never travel to these places so I enjoyed seeing them for that reason. But, perhaps the best thing was that watching your videos took my mind off my loss and gave me a few moments of distraction. Thank you for that. I guess it just goes to show that we never know how are actions will affect others.

None of that casino, shops, giant complex, etc, was there back in the 1970s. I went there on a P&O cruise in the clearly 70s, long before a big hurricane flattened the island. All the palm trees blew down flat. It's since been replanted, rebuilt, and modernised to what it's like now. The island back in the 70s was more natural, with more flora and fauna, and way less people. It's interesting to see it nowadays. Thanks for showing us. Xxxx

Yes, there is food, drink, and shopping not far from the cruise ship. What Antigua calls a casino is sad. Diamond's International is always in a prominent location in the Caribbean. The area looks a little different. I see they don't have the raised wooden sidewalks. My wife would love the Belgian waffle place. Where the ships dock they have some shopping areas with eateries near the ship. About 1/2 block away from the ship. Am subscribed and did hit the like button.

Went to Sandals Antigua for my honeymoon years ago and loved it. The residents truly understand that tourism is their entire economy, and are so very kind (and you are so very safe there). They took my ex-wife and I to a barbeque that was 98% residents and fed us for free! We actually stayed in one of the huts that was later used in an episode of The Sopranos, and the only reason I know that is because ours (we being the only legit honeymooners there) the unit closest to the water. We could throw a rock and land it in the ocean.

The names of ships/lines painted on the pier is actually a docking aid. There are windows on the floor of the bridge wings by the wing piloting stations and the captain looks down those window and knows the ship is in the right spot when they see the proper logo on the pier. This was explained by the captain of the Celebrity Silhouette during the behind the scenes visit when someone asked about the floor windows on the bridge.

Like the Spirit Class, I think the Jewel Class...are nice sizes for a person who can not afford or chooses more travel for same dollar amt. with mass market and premium yet wants this size and some little luxury offerings of Crystal type line and the next general physical size up is this 85 to 95 appx ton size...I think MSC and Royal have this size...and I hear Princess Coral?? and Holland America great options as well,,if you just do not want even the 110,000 ton size. So if one wants more luxury a suite level in any of these ships offers something...older celebrity ships too. So cool to see Pride and Jade together in port. Both classes are on my more cruises please list. My last full week on a cruise over 30 years ago on an OLD former Big Red Boat ship and then the Costa Riviera and one day we were next to the then new Club Med sailing ship one time...Wowza did it look cool, Thanks again Tony...great entry as always.

Those ship markings along the edge of the dock are for the Captain's use. On all modern cruise ships there is a clear Plexiglas square on the floor on both side bridge "wings." When the ship is maneuvering to dock, the Captain looks down through the floor and using the mark for their ship class, knows where to bring the ship alongside the dock.
