We were on the mid December sailing. I agree with Jenny, the limited seating in all the entertainment areas, it was very difficult to see. They could have projected these piazza shows on that big digital screen. Also, having to get to the venue and hour before is not very pleasant. These small venues are a bust!!☹️TFS! 💕🌴😎

I find any time we went to the international cafe it was always crowded and finding a seat was always difficult. This has been a problem since at least 2005 when the ships were smaller and the number of cruisers were less. I can’t imagine how crowded it is now with the number of guests on this ship. Everyone likes to hang out there so I am not sure if I would be happy with the cafe on the 9th floor. One thing that your video has done is confirm I will probably not cruise on this ship due to the number of guests. When I cruise I want to relax and not worry about getting to a venue super early to ensure I get a seat or waiting in line for everything.

We are booked in an Ocean View room on Star Princess in May of 26 for her first Alaska cruise. It will be our first Princess Cruise, and we got Princess Premier. We're so excited!!.

It was explained that the crew served buffet was because the ship was designed during the epidemic and that it would go away on the next dry dock, as well as being removed in the construction of The Star Princess

Carnival Jubilee has a sort of similar issue with site lines in the atrium on the upper decks at the back, they have put up a bunch of screens and now its a lot better.

Yes, bring back the ravioli!! Bring back the soufflés!!!.. And make sure to have more good selections at the International Cafe. One evening when we cruised, everybody was lined up, after the shows, cause it was time for something to eat... Literally nothing on those shelves... a few cookies, a few plain pound-cake things,.... Very frustrating. And, where is that iced coffee. menu. We did order an iced mocha blended 'frappe'.... And, the guy was rude when we were ordering off menu, very specifically, like 'hey, you don't have to tell me how make this'... Last time I tried the ravioli, on Regal, I got some little bitty thumbnail sized things that looked like they came out of a can or a Sysco bag????? I would love if I could get what you showed in that pic! You mentioned CEO for a day, etc... Well, after the SUN Princess roll-out, the CEO is now 'out' and a new one taking over. Let's hope these issues are resolved on the Star. You can't add 1000-2000 passengers to a ship and not make the venues restaurants bigger!!!!

The negatives about the arena and dome are overcome by reserved seating with Princess premiere. Really makes that an incentive. International Cafe is ways busy but they need more seating!

Hey Tony and Jenny B. I was on that December sailing of the Sun Princess and I agree with your assessment. I really liked the food in the buffet being served by crew. The food was always very appealing. However, I didn’t like much of the food in the MDR, especially the soups which were all creamy and confirmed by the waiter.

Tony and Jenny B, I loved, loved, loved this vlog with the two of you giving your love it and hate it review of the Sun Princess. I thought your critiques had a lot of merit and were factual with plenty of video to back up your review. I'm a lot leery of the buffet and International Cafe being on 9 and there's only the burger bar and pizza on the Lido deck. Less to do on the Lido. It also sounds like gridlock in the piazza at night. Don't get me wrong, I really want to sail on the Sun Princess in the future or maybe I'll even wait for the Star Princess but it's a lot of change. 🤔 I'm one of those Princess cruises who spouse doesn't like change, so... 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was spoiled by the Royal class ships, I guess. Thanks again, you two. Great job! 🎉❤ PS: I forgot to add. I saw on a Princess group on FB that the Sun buffet is going to go to self serve soon, if not already. It seems they designed the buffet during quarantine and never thought they'd have self serve again. I'm bummed. I was looking forward to better hygiene in the buffet. I like when the crew serves the food. I'm stoked about the ready made things!

Great video love it when you two banter and give accurate information. We were on the Sun Princess with you and Don on his group cruise. You touched on many of the positives but for me there one flaw in the ship design that carried over to many of the venues. Too many people for the public space on the ship. It was hard to find a place to sit and enjoy a drink, most public areas were noisy because of all the people, the Arena was way to small with tight seating, eatery needed more dining space, piaza was very crowded when shows were going on with no good views on decks 8 & 9. On the plus side the American Diner was fantastic, the crew were very friendly, Alfredo's pizza was very good, and the ship was beautiful. So while we enjoyed the cruise the new ship design is not for us.

You nailed my thoughts after being on the Sun Princess in Nov 2024 - I really thought the Dome was overrated and although unique it didn't seem practical on a ship with such a big capacity of guests. Also we had to get to the theater an hour early on our cruise to get a good seat which was okay since we elected to have dinner at 5pm.

Hey Guys... Happy New Year... What a great review... Honest and not mean.. I have only sailed in Ruby Princess back in 2016. She was a wonderful ship, easy enough to get around, and very comfortable... Classy, but not feeling l ike you couldn't sit somewhere.. Royal and Sun class seems to be too big for my liking, but after this review, I would give it a try for sure.. their Sanctuary isn't quite like the Haven or Yacht club now, is it? Your cabana cabin looked really nice, and It does look like the ship has plenty of space. She seems to have a lower capacity than the other ships her size, which will be nice... Looking forward to more content... Thanks again..

I was disappointed to hear that the Piazza on the Sun Princess still has basically standing room only. At least while I was standing around I always enjoyed the International Cafe. I could see why some of the regulars that cruise on Princess would be disappointed that it was moved to the 9th deck.

Agree with you about the venues being too small & the difficulty trying to watch entertainment/game shows, etc. in the piazza from decks 8 & 9. The views are blocked. Screens above would definitely help. Our favorite features on the ship were the destination elevators & the glass doors in the cabin showers instead of the dreaded curtains. Americana Diner was a nice addition. Loved O'Malley's, but it was too small. Enjoyed meeting & briefly chatting with you both. Love your episodes!

Glad you and Jenny B had a good time. I agree with a lot of the issues you brought up. Was on the Sun Princess in October. Here are my thoughts. Pros Beautiful, beautiful ship. Love the new cabins, especially the new sofas and glass doored showers. The new elevators are wonderful. The abundance of specialty dining venues. Americana diner❤ Lots of cool bars. Plenty of no additional cost food venues. The pools, particularly the aft pool. Cons The smokiest casinos at sea, along with terrible drink service Congestion at both of the highly promoted venues, the Dome and Piazza. Park 19 ????? Placement of guest services. Poor sight lines both in Princess Live and Palazzo. MDR food not quite up to the quality of the rest of the food venues Will I sail Sun again? Yes. None of the above are deal breakers. I just hope the bigwigs are listening to the guests' concerns and address them .

Doesn’t look like that Princess arena holds as many people as the old theaters. I’ve seen so many content creators state that the line to enter is huge and the wait is very long. Don’t wish to have to stand in line to enter what is the evenings entertainment.

My wife and I are experienced cruiser but we mainly do Celebrity and Holland America. However we were with you and Don's group for the December cruise on the Sun Princess It was our first Princess and we loved it. We are also booked on the Star Princess next December. We agree with you about your comments on the Medillion. We also though the destination elevators were great. I would like to suggest though that on boarding the Princess Sun, they station someone to quickly bried folks on how they were. When we boarded it was pandamonium and quite funny to watch. We took the stairs 😂

it looks like they took what's not good from other brands and implemented. like NCL Getaway and Royal Anthem...choppy designs and eclectic. Especially venues without ample space for 3000+ cruiser. but all in all if you are on a cruise, Be happy no matter what...You are on a cruise where many are not able to.

been on this ship 3x's, now i'm done. didn't care for it at all, venues are all to small, entertainment was not up to par, only show worth seeing was "Fiera". very difficult to get a seat in the buffet in the morning no matter what time you went there, found that the fact that the crew served you, slowed up the line and i want to take the portion i want, not what you give me, it seems like a waste of food when they just pile the food on. didn't find the crew all that friendly, casino, although billed as the largest of all the fleet was also very small and it was impossible to find a bar waiter, why don't they have a bar in there? cabin was very nice, but small as well, and in order to dry off from the shower you had to open the bathroom door. i am a loyal princess guest but my next few cruises are going to be on the Enchanted. beautiful ship indeed, but not my cup of tea.

I love Princess. However, the Sun Princess seems way too crowded and busy for me. I’m sticking with the Royal Class or smaller for now. We’ll see what happens with the Star Princess. I agree wholeheartedly about the Princess Premier option - we never sail Princess without that. Thanks.
