“Remember Death”
@Raccoonactual2 жыл бұрын
Literal translation is "Remember Death", but the interpretation is "remember your death". It was meant as a humbling phase, as in you'll die no matter what but did you do the right things in life before you died. The phrase had significant prominence in Roman and early Catholic culture. Early cathedrals would display it along with the Rose, Hourglass, and Skull engraved near it to symbolize Birth (the rose), our Time on earth (the Hourglass), and our eventual earthly Death (the Skull).

I remember seeing Lamb of God play at a club in 2001... no one knew who they were! But 3 songs into their set, the crowd went berserk! Saw them again in 2002... same thing - 3 songs in and mosh pits raging! 🤘🔥 I knew they would be huge after that... Lamb of God came from the unlikely city of Richmond, Virginia (middle of nowhere, I've been there!) formed as a band called Burn the Priest in the 90's by brothers Chris Adler (drums) & Willie Adler (guitar) w/ John Campbell (bass) & Mark Morton (guitar)... (guitarist Abe Spear also contributed) then, Randy Blythe (vocals) came in & FORCED himself onto the band, before the band changed their name to Lamb Of God in 2000. Opening for everyone from Mushroomhead, Slipknot, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica... Lamb of God made their place at the top of extreme heavy metal today. This is a newer track, so Art Cruz is the drummer... he replaced Chris Adler a few years ago.

If you look into what Randy went through you'll see how fitting this song is. He went from being homeless to being in a band and kind of not respecting his life. Then he went to prison in another country. His life was on the line for a crime he didn't commit. He was freed of all charges and has since taken a new appreciation of life I feel. He's a photographer and he is in another band that is more punk like called Burn The Priest. He's just amazing all around! I used to not like him, but he obviously decided to change the bad parts of himself and I have mad respect for that!
@RobinMcKinstry Жыл бұрын
Lamb of god was called burn the preist and the guitarist invited him to sing in it and Randy didn’t want to because him and the guitar player played together and the band before sucked so when he came back from a holiday he asked the guitarist (the guitarist was the only one at the time Randy knew with a car) and on the phone the guitarist said “I have a party to play at want to come?” And Randy said yes and he listen to it ly and was like imma play in that band and he did creating lamb of god.

I learned Momento Mori on drums last year utilizing my few minutes of free time (after finishing the AM chores) before work in the mornings while waiting to be picked up. Though not a particularly technical piece, its' bludgeoning grooviness makes it a blast to jam on 🤘 Edit: Lamb Of God has tons of great high-quality live performances to be enjoyed. 512 is a real banger that was influenced by Randy Blythe's (L.o.G. vocalist) time spent in a Czechoslovakian prison while awaiting trial for the death of a fan following injuries he allegedly sustained at a Lamb Of God show. Blythe spent quite a long time incarcerated before being acquitted of the charges and returning to the U.S. The official video seems to draw much inspiration from the film, River's Edge, that starred a young Keanu Reeves and Dennis Hopper and depicts 7 teenage friends and their apathetic reaction to one of their circle murdering another of the group. I highly recommend the song and the film.

What I find particularly interesting is he started screaming as a joke, a means of making fun of metal lead singers (he doesn't consider himself a fan of metal; he's into punk rock). And then someone heard him doing it and asked him to do that for Burn the Priest (now Lamb of God). It turned him into a multimillionaire and a God of metal.

Not trying to rub you the wrong way or anything , but (WALK WITH ME IN HELL) is actually a love song that Mark Morton wrote about his wife. "TAKE MY HAND, AND WALK WITH ME IN HELL.: I'm sure you can find it on Google somewhere. 🤘 Could have just as easily been written by Randy Blythe about his addiction and battles with alcohol. But I'm positive that I seen a interview where Mark talked about writing the song and what it was all about. One of the most beautiful things about 🤘HEAVY METAL🤘 is that a song could be played for 10 complete strangers and you'll get 7 different meanings of what you the song is about. I used to think it was written by Randy and was about their road crew and being on tour, until I seen that interview. STAY METAL MY FRIEND!🤘

Absolutely brutal. That was the 1st time i got to meet the guys. That was when Randy was still drinking and HIGHLY VIOLATILE. Got pics, got sticks and a broken nose....GREAT CONCERT, the pits were NUTS and when we did the wall of death i thought security was gonna shit themselves. As stated you must check out Ashes of the wake album. 1 of the craziest albums made and IMO their best. The riffs, the hooks, the drum pieces and lyrics, there is not 1 bad song on that whole album....Faded line and Omerta are AMAZING...Also check out their stuff when they were know as Burn the Priest. Lastly their new drummer is very good but you gotta go back and listen to Adler play...He is the original drummer and his arrangements are Balls insane
