@anthonywhite23 Жыл бұрын
@@MrLillywhite2011 No don't think so , the k8 system is all one with the collector box being part of the down pipes . I bought a K7 cat which has the silencer attached but it doesn't fit the down pipes that are on my bike. I suspect the down pipes on my bike are K7 which have been fitted by a previous owner but when I offer up the K7 cat it simply will not fit. The underside of the bike is different and the brackets are in a different place. Only solution is a full K8 system. Hope that makes sense.

The lambda probe in your case was installed upstream of the catalytic converter. Even though the catalytic converter was removed, there is no reason why the probe was chosen to be deactivated. A flange could have been welded onto the connecting pipes to keep the lambda probe active. It is a very important sensor that helps the ECU (Engine Control Unit) form the mixture in many situations, situations that would be difficult to predict or take into account by the engineers who create the injection maps with the lambda probe deactivated.

Hey chop, you need to know that you have placed the filter upside down, mate! Also, consider using a spanner to undue the sump rather than a ratchet. These sump are weak on the thread side and are known to strip due to the steel sump bolt. You also need to bleed the coolant system, too. Good luck, mate, Alex from Sydney Australia P.s. The Fuchs oil box has been designed to be used instead of removing the bladder, 😆 It's been designed to be used just like a cask of wine you buy from your local.

Just a quick one that may have already been mentioned. I noticed when you took the airfilter out there looks like there is a self tapping screw missing which holds the air filter down. This might be important for sealing the air filter down and why you might have grit after it. I might be wrong but deffo looks like something should be there.

@@LambChopRides The valve is going to oscillate. You take one of the cables and hook it back up to the side that pins it open, loosen the bracket mounting bolt, coil the cable around the bolt once or twice, going over top of the bolt, and then tighten the nut down hard. Then clip off the extra. This prevents all oscillation. We have to do it on the hondas since the htev in full crossover is more complicated, is not spring loaded, and is much smoother flow than removing. On the 929 and 954s.

The cat really did knock the mid-range compared to the k5/6, very interested to hear what you think of the changes - you could normally feel the difference if a bike had been decatted, even with std gearing...yours should really shift ! You probably should google the issue with K&N oil filters, they have been banned from many race tracks due to them leaking at the nut. I wouldn't use anything but an OEM oil filter and use the respective "cap" tool which allows you to use a socket to remove and torque them.

Could well be. There was a period where they were using rivet style construction for adding the nut plate. I believe they swapped to welding the plate on. It may well be rectified now, but the issue is well documented and for the same money oem can not have this issue.

Chops, I wouldn’t bother with a ‘race’ filter, its debatable if they provide any performance gain… most manufacturers claim 1-2 bhp, this is well with in the error margin of any dyno so not reliable but one thing they all do is ‘flow’ more grit and dust which damages your valves, pistons, rings and bores. Stick with OEM. I have seen the build up of dust, dirt and grit in the air boxes of 100’s of ‘tuned’ bikes running ‘race’ filters, and for many years have swapped the ‘race’ filters for OEM on any bikes I buy and find them fitted…. I used to be a motorcycle tech on many brands at a big dealership so saw first hand and in great numbers. Don’t believe the hype… would you notice 1-2 bhp gained or lost… no.

Sprint filters seem to be the worst for this don't they... But DNA and BMC filtration is meant to be on a par with OE filters I believe. In fact the BMW m3 csl used a BMC panel filter in the carbon airbox direct from the factory...

@T T Track = 40 tires churning up dust on a perfect surface. Road = 40.000+ tires churning up everything. Track is not an ideal proving ground for anything other than tires, but I take your point, and sports filters can do little damage on track.
