A mate of mine tried doing this with a 1200 Bandit. Two years ago that was. 3/4’s of it is still in bits in his garage. He bought a new Triumph Tiger instead.🙄🤣🤷🏻♂️

Chops, for my eye the “motorcycle” is now a collection of parts -unrecognizable. I would be so SCREWED... Taking things apart are typically easy enough, putting it all together, now there is the challenge. This project for me is like watching a train wreck.

Great video Chops. Leave those bolts soaking in distilled white vinegar overnight, that will take the corrosion away. Takes longer than some of the dedicated rust removal products, but vinegar is cheap, you can get it at the supermarket and it smells nice. Will make you want to go to the chippy though!

Hi Chops, Loving this rebuild 👍❤️🏍. I’ve never done a full rebuild, so watching this series is very informative, as well as entertaining. You’re timing was impeccable, to start this project just as the lockdown around the world occurred. Really love watching the step by step process and your tip to remember where each bolt is located on the covers was a stroke of genius. In the past I’ve laid my bolts out in a certain pattern to remember but your system is fool proof...excellent for fools like me 😂. Cheers.

Gee I love Lamb Chops! Truly!! I stumbled upon you whilst lying in a hospital bed after motorcycle accident looking at Triumph Rocket 3 GT stuff. I think I actually asked your opinion about jumping off my Kawasaki ZX14 and onto the Rocket as a 6 foot 3, 49 year old man with lower back and neck issues. You made the GT model sound like a relaxed posture type of ride.... That good? Anyway, now I find out you do restoration vids and do them well you do! Thankyou Mr Chops.

Haha thanks Adrian 👍👍 yes Rocket 3 is lovely. I'm looking forward to trying the R version see which I prefer but I'm thinking the GT is going to be more relaxed and comfortable 👍

Top tip; get yersen a 3/8" drive ratchet and socket set. 95% of working on a m/c is done with 3/8". Pros will also have/use 1/4" for the small stuff. But that 1/2" you are using on 6mm cover screws is just a no no. 1/2" has its place, like big fasteners such as clutch, rear wheel spindle etc, but less than 5% of your m/c work. Regards,

try soaking old bolts / parts in apple cider vinegar, works a treat. just don't put the lid on the jar too tight, as it fizzes up a bit of pressure and can pop the top!
