Iommi ougth to record an entire record with Anselmo. "time is mine" is the highlight of the "Iommi" album
@BL-wh2ux5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Especially because time is most certainly no longer Iommi's. As sad as it is, he's probably not gonna be riffing in 10 or 15 years.
@jaffajames25564 жыл бұрын
Apparently initially that 2000 Album, Iommi was meant to exclusively have Phil Anselmo on the vocals for every track. I think Phil didn't have the time to record all of it as he was busy with other projects. Though that last part I am not sure of the details.

Iommis breakdown sounds like a massive tribute to dime. To my ear anyway. And naturally Dime paid major homage to Iommi throughout his career. But it's really awesome hearing some Dimebag come through.
@mykull6667 жыл бұрын
That is the beauty of this album. The song with Ian Astbury has some Cult-ish stuff in it. The Billy Corgan song has Smashing Pumpkins in it. He did a great job of being Tony Iommi while playing to the singers strengths. The bonus stuff on "13" has a few Randy Rhoads type riffs that play into what Ozzy became after Sabbath. In my opinion, there is no better guitarist from his era. I really don't think Jimmy Page or Tony's other peers could write a relevant song today or even between 1996-2000, when this album was done. Tony wrote more than an album's worth of great songs. Even with "13" being a throwback to the mid 70's it still sounded relevant.

You never lose a gift like that. His vocal range is awesome. I bet if he was 100% sober, he could sing any Pantera song note perfect. Even high pitch vocals like in 'Shattered' or any death like screams in 13 steps (To nowhere). He was, is, and will remain one of the greatest vocalists in metal ever. Dont be fooled by Down either. Its his style for that band. But when he chooses to, he will blow you away with damaging vocals.
