For sure! I stick with manual and sport 95% of the time. I'll do cross every now and then. But it's almost too abrupt. Sport feels like the time it would take to shift a manual and should be ideal for clutch life

Can you take it to an Audi dealership for service since there’s a lot of similarities and shared parts?
@BrosFOURRSpeed4 ай бұрын
You should be able to. It might depend on the dealer itself. If they are well verses in R8 maintenance, their techs should be able to handle this and understand what it is. Basic fluid changes shouldn't be an issue. Diag might need a special Euro shop or the Lambo dealer tho for further things. Fore me so far doing maintenance myself, it's pretty basic

great video. The clutch issues on the first gen cars scare me into an LP i think.
@BrosFOURRSpeed6 ай бұрын
Good thing is, there isn't any clutch issues. It just has a wimpy stock one. About a $5k job to replace it and you can put in a newer OEM one or a good aftermarket one and it will last just as long as the LP cars. Just make sure if you do go Pre LP, see if there is a record of a clutch job. Use that as negotiation. But I do love my LP!

The Gallardo keeps its value too. It just does. I would figure the Huracan would be the next step up?
@BrosFOURRSpeed8 ай бұрын
Yeah these cars have held steady for the last 10 years. While the Huracan is the newer version. Huracan is a lot more tame and less raw. It's a better car, but not something I'd sell this car for. It looses the raw character. The Aventador still has the old school raw driving feeling especially with the single clutch transmission. So if you like the raw driving experience of the G, the Aventador would be the next step up. I wouldn't mind having a Huracan next to the Gallardo. More modern, faster and easier to drive. But these cars to me are about the drama. Aventador would be some fun as my next Lambo in the future.

I love the LP550-2. I'm seeing them for sale between $120-150k in Fall 2024. I have a '24 C8 Stingray that I paid $82k for. I was considering trading for a Gallardo after year 2. I would gain the Lamborghini factor, however, performance is similar or slightly behind the C8 due to the transmission and software/tuning. I am struggling to justify it. That's not a knock on the Gallardo, it still punches with 2024 MY C8s, a decade later! I can't imagine what a Gallardo was like in 2010-2014! I suppose the C8 is just too good a value. Regardless these LP550-2s will always be a sweet model to me.
@BrosFOURRSpeed3 ай бұрын
Depends on what you are going for. The character of the Lambo is what you get out of it. The single clutch transmission is raw and old school, the V10 is addicting to listen to and the way the car operates being a 20 year old platform is just a really fun experience. It's a modern classic. So it has the old school feeling modern cars don't have. It's plenty fast tho and handles pretty good. You just won't be pushing the Gallardo is the turns quite as hard compared to a modern Corvette. It's like someone owning a modern GT Mustang and wanting a 1971 GT to replace it to have a classic car rather than a modern car. So for me, I like how this is super raw and drives like nothing else. You can't help but smile behind the wheel because it has so much soul and character. Still new enough to be usable and livable too

@BrosFOURRSpeed2 ай бұрын
Yeah if you plan to do a twin turbo, stick with an LP. The 5.2 is much more suitable for that. However I'd stick with a VF supercharger. Underground Racing doesn't really support the Gallardo much more with TT kits. However VF still does a lot with the 5.2 Gallardo with Superchargers. Much more reliable with supercharging and still gives you the usability of the N/A smooth power. I'd only go TT on a Huracan to have the smooth transmission.

Many people in Malaysia who spotted a Lamborghini Gallardo often pronounced the name wrong by saying GALLARDO because the two Ls are sounded which rhymes with the evil Claude Frollo from Victor Hugo's novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame and its old 1996 animated Disney film adaptation. Any concerns?

@BrosFOURRSpeed25 күн бұрын
It's not the transmissions. It's the early cars clutches. They were very weak and would wear out very soon. Good aftermarket clutches exist now and will last a long time! 2nd gen cars like mine should hit over 50k miles on the stock clutch if you drive it correctly. So on first gen cars if you buy a used one with over 10k miles. Most likely it already had a clutch replacement and you're probably good to go for many years.
