I show you the best make intake manifold in the world that Lamborghini made for the Gallardo from 2005-2008 to include the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. I show you the intricate detail of this intake manifold including the sensors, plenum casting, and two-stage changeover system. Lamborghini also changed from Magneti Marelli throttle bodies to bosh throttle bodies in 2007.
Join me on this in-depth dive into the best intake manifold ever made and the beautiful cast aluminum structure.

As expected, great informative video! Still have an E Gear issue over here with my 05 G. I've been goofing off too much haven't had a chance to get serious, maybe next week. I wish you would hurry up and break your e gear so we can do this together! lol lol. So now I have another problem. After walking out to the main garage I was shocked to find the windshield on my 88.5 Countach was completely caved in! This was shorty after I had the full view glass garage doors installed. What happened you asked? It seems my mastiff 150lbs "Lola" decided to jump up on the car and get a better view of the neighborhood dogs, I think. The evidence was the paw prints climbing up the front and finally slipped, she must have hit the windshield at a weak point. Original Oem windscreen cost. $ 11,200.00. Both Lamborghini's down! Unfrikinbelievable! What do I gotta do by a 3rd one!!!!!!! Again great video, I love your enthusiasm

Thank you Nicholas! I'm glad you liked the video and I appreciate it. I don't wish e gear issues on anyone sir!! That is a crazy story that your dog was heavy enough to break the windshield! I have never heard of that before. A quick search looks like you can find a windshield for a bit cheaper than that! www.ebay.com/itm/183912907529 Maybe you could get a independent glass shop to install it for you. Either way it would come in at far less than 11k my man. We could both go out SVJ shopping if your down to pick one of those up! Hahaha

Yes Richard I couldn't believe it either But upon further inspection after getting the broken glass and frame out it looks like the silicone in certain areas started to break down the car is quite old and Lola is 150lbs so u can see her paw marks where she climbed up the front and slipped. I also looked at that glass u referred but when i talked to Mr Fiat its not oem its aftermarket Some reason I don't feel right about it. I bought that car brand new so it's kind of my baby And all of the other glass is factory tinted So there's a distinct hue color I just want to make sure it's all original and it all matches perfectly . I might have to pay the big bucks until I can find authentic that's cheaper. Thanks for looking out for me I appreciate it the next time I email you I'll try to send you a picture of the degraded silicone. Talk to u soon

Thank you Ryan. That means a lot! Your not too far off in mechanical knowledge either my friend. I have been an Audi VW nerd for years and its what drove me to the Superleggera! I love learning and studying different SSP (Self Study Programs) from Audi when their new models came out detailing all the technological differences between the motors, transmissions etc. I'm just a nerd man! Torque specs don't mean as much as you would think to be honest with you. Unless im doing something critical to fail like timing chains, brakes, wheels etc, then I just follow general torque table guidelines. Its hard to explain but perhaps its all intuition at this point. Perhaps I can find a good resource for you regarding general bolt sizes and the resulting recommended torques, it might help you out!

Great video explaining the engineering of the manifolds! Would it be possible to replace them with individual throttle bodies?
@TheBullRider
@TheBullRider Жыл бұрын
Jink, You definitely could! That would be a sweet mod! The car would probably not even mind it either. The biggest hurdle you would face is finding a way to get the throttle bodies on your ITBs to communicate with the OEM electronics, but after that you are off to the races!

Did you have any issues re-using the injector o-rings or any of the "big" gaskets on the manifold? Or did those all come out pretty cleanly. As you say, not too worried about them as long as they separated cleanly on disassembly.
@TheBullRider
@TheBullRider Жыл бұрын
Richard, no issues with the gaskets or injector O rings. The injectors are standard EV14 style injectors with 6mm O rings. Any 6mm (or 8.1mm, I cant remember LOL) off-the-shelf O ring will work if yours are trashed.

Patrick, great question. I have an oil leak AND a coolant leak in that same spot. I will show you this in a future video but the V of the engine block is covered in oil! Just port injection Jeff. This is funny because I was going to talk about the differences but I edited it out. The 5.0 Pre LP Gallardo had just port injection. The 5.2 LP Gallardo and Gen 1 R8 V10 had just direct injection. And Finally the 5.2 Huracan and Gen 2 R8 V10 had both port and direct injection!

Hi Owali! Yes, you can. The part number is 06A906031BA. I recommend getting a Bosch branded injector. Hi, I just tumbled on this video and others of you, probably because I like cars and mechanics. Anyway, you were talking about maybe doing a port polish of some kind, to gain some hp. Now you could ask yourself why, in the first place, those smart guys from Lamborghini/Audi, didn't do that already? The thing is that they leave it that way(a little rough) to make the incoming air tumble(it's the best word I can come up with, English is not my first language) to have a better mix with the fuel, once it gets into the cylinder. Thus if you ever decide to polish the intake manifold, do a before and after dyno, and don't be surprised of the numbers... And by the way, you're doing a nice job 👍
@TheBullRider
@TheBullRider 2 жыл бұрын
Marco V6T, that is a totally realistic perspective and I appreciate your input! You are completely right, a before and after dyno will tell you a lot of the truth of the before and after results for that. Even if we flow bench the intake manifold before and after, we still would not get a good perspective on what would happen to the flow dynamics of the air-fuel mixture and atomization. And you are right, turbulent flow might atomize the gasoline in the air more effectively than laminar/ transitionary flow at that Reynolds number with ported/ polished runners! My only other perspective however is Lamborghini ported and polished the cylinder heads by hand and also clipped the valve guides. My thought with that is they didn't concern themselves with turbulent air in the heads, maybe the intake manifold wouldn't be any different? Check out this other video of mine where I show the intake ports. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3LEiIKIorCbmdE I show the ports at 9:53! Let me know what you think! I would appreciate your thoughts!

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The intake manifold is nearly identical to the 360 and 430 and Ferrari came out first. Just from looks, it looks exactly like the 1999 360 Intake Manifold, almost as if Lamborghini reverse engineered the Ferrari and added their own twist.🙂
@TheBullRider
@TheBullRider 2 жыл бұрын
All very good points Kent! The 360 intake manifold looks very close but the flow takes an abrupt 90 degree bend for the low rpm runners and the velocity stacks aren't cast integrally with the intake manifold! The 430 intake manifold is only a single stage, although it is very beautiful as well. You are probably right, there was probably a 360 or two for reverse engineering at the Lamborghini back in the day! At least the 430 and Gallardo both use Bosch throttle bodies! they are probably the same part number. Haha!
