LaMelo Ball has plenty of confidence coming into tonight’s NBA Draft. Yesterday he told reporters that he was born to be the number one overall pick. The confidence is warranted since many mock drafts do have LaMelo going to the Minnesota Timberwolves with the top pick tonight, while some have them taking Anthony Edwards. Hear what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have to say about the possibility of LaMelo Ball being drafted #1 overall.

jerry cruz yeah I like Lamelo too. And I would draft him. Then again the nba is a whole different animal. I couldn’t see him slapping a 28 year old man of pure muscle that’s trying to put food on the table lol. But all jokes aside I get what you mean. He does have the talent, he’s kind of raw, he may need to tweak his jumpshot, but if he can develop he can be a really good player.

Those 12 samples in the NBL was no accident. He massively improved in the JBA. Nobody gives Lavar credit but the JBA gave him G league and college experience while he was still in high school... Then he got more structured in the small time he did in Spire... He is the most ready for the Nba talent for this draft... Remenber Lamelo in the Drew league just before the NBL. A contender for MVP. And that was with NBA level players... This kid is 3 years ahead of his class and he is no were close to his prime...

But if you always hyping them up they become cocky and think it’s never them. Parenting takes alit brother don’t always tell your kid he got it install confidence but make them always feel like they got things to work on. That’s what makes the greats great. This might be just me, but I'd be more motivated to play for a school like Duke/Kentucky, learn from a HOF head coach, play for a NCAA title, play against top prospects that I actually know, rather than playing for some oversea teams & leagues he probably never heard of or cared for. Imagine if he had stayed in the states & developed a HS rivalry like LeBron & Melo or a college rivalry like Magic & Bird, then we'd see his drive. Why do they hardly ever discus any white players only his hero tom Brady. Peyton manning is. The greatest. For anyone who have watched the ball brothers from the jump you know Lonzo & Melo aren't the same. The way they play the game is different, Melo has always been more outgoing on the court vs his brother who just seems to go with the flow of the game & then from time to time he'll step out of his comfort zone. Out of all of them I always felt like the fact that Melo doesn't play cautiously nor does he care what people think about some of the ridiculous things he does on the court like when he used to pull up from half court, that kind of heart is kinda needed for you to tap into your full potential and not be afraid to make mistakes and sometimes fail in order to learn & get to that next level. No Rookie has it all, they all have to develop, Idc how great you were coming in from high school or College.
