Totally agree. Even a quick cut of the most “dramatic” or notable points of the video for first few seconds to prime us for follow up would be great too (not impossible to get for future episodes since shorts are becoming more and more built) It’s distracting to stop the video because I have to go “oh yea, it’s this person” by searching the description (at least on mobile). I get this is content for the most enfranchised viewers so I can excuse the lack of polish, but yeah the callbacks with theOG thumbnails would do a lot for a more polished & uniform experience be for viewers :)

Lamiya, I'm rooting for you!!!!!! I'm proud of you! Unsolicited advice: I'd say if you do your UberEats only every Sunday, more like a treat/prize for having a job well done of work & saving throughout the week, I think you will gradually change your mindset towards feeling deprived. Celebration versus deprivation. I know it helped me when I was trying to cut down on eating out. Food tasted better too because you're savoring it so much because you're patting yourself in the back. And you always have something to look forward to.

I have Uber Eats once a month - Amex Gold Card gives me $10 credit. (I'd pick up my own food to reduce my costs) That's how I rewarded myself for working so much, being active, and cooking at home. If people created a budget for take away and groceries - it goes along way.

She is the one where lot of the dept came from her parents. They took some loan in her name, when she was a child so her dad could get some dental work done. Once she tirned 18, they told her about it and then forced her to take out credit cards to cover household expenses.

I haven't finished watching, but I want to touch on the ubereats situation. And I wanna say that I keep rooting for her - she seems like an amazing human being. When it comes to eating, when circling around food restrictions and even eating disorders, I would be on her side here. She's well on the right track with the debt and her path to being debt free shouldn't come at the expense of her mental health, so if she prolongs getting rid of the debt by a couple of months in exchange of some ubereats - I don't see a problem here.

I honestly think that the uber eats sounds like burnout. I know from the previous audit she was on two meals a day from work alone and skipping meals at home to save, then would get ubereats. It sounds like she just burns out (this is just an assumption though) so she crashes from stress/exhaustion and orders it, since she probably could just go down the street and order it or cook food at home if she was still budgeting. Tough but I think she'll crack it, she's tackled everything else and it's been one step at a time, well done. It usually takes people years to get their habits with debt and money fixed so she's done fantastic.

I just don't see paying for the braces early. I didn't go back and watch the original, but, most of the ortho offices set up an interest free payment plan, so it seems that extra money would be better spent on an interest bearing debt. You're also paying as you go because they haven't done all of the work yet. Prepaying could bite you if you end up having a problem with that ortho.

She brought that up in the original video actually, that she was worried down the line, but she wants that money to pay off other things anyway

Caleb you gotta run this channel better. Post a community thing the day before with a link to their video. Have a brief recap (60 seconds) of their previous situation. Better thumbnail. Love what you’re doing though keep helping people!!

Mental how everyone on this show can't cook! I earn about double average salary and probably get a takeaway 3-4 times a year

Dude! I know! I have made a pact with myself…once I am out of debt, investing 20% and have my 1 year emergency fund, I am donating 100 crockpots to Caleb to give to his guests. I didn’t cook when I started my journey, now I can cook almost anything from scratch BUT my crock pot is what I use when I am busy or working 12 hour shifts at the hospital. It takes like 5 minutes to prepare. I even bought an inverter and plug my crockpot into my car when traveling. I truly credit my crockpot for success in my financial journey.

3-4 times a year? No friends? No work dinners? No travel? What?

@@Username0467 tonnes of friends and a long time girlfriend. I'm British so we don't get the culture of eating out everyday. Much prefer to stay debt free

@@Username0467 I have started bringing the food when out with my friends. Everyone eats and enjoys and we don’t spend a bunch of money on food out. I have an insulated lunch bag. I have a friend who will actually set up a Hibachi on her tailgate. I know it does not sound normal and takes a little stepping out of what you have done for your whole life. I have been surprised at how much everyone enjoys it and how it changes the atmosphere to a simpler time. Try it just a few times and see how it goes.

I would rather do just about anything else in life than cook. I hate cooking.

I really think she has a shot at becoming incredibly successful in whatever she wishes to pursue. I remember her situation in her first episode being incredibly difficult, many other guests didn’t have the compounding stressors she did & it’s incredible to hear she’s in the process of such a dramatic improvement!

i love caleb’s ‘persona’ far more in these episodes. far less interrupting and focus on the drama, more pragmatic. i’m leaning towards following less of the original channel and just watching these. i know i’m just one opinion, but the other channel is heading a direction that is harder and harder to watch. this is better.
