That's the entire point...you shouldn't have to be deep into someone's life to respect their opinion, even if it is one you don't fully understand or agree with. You aren't entitled to her story, she has the grace of sharing it with us, so it's pretty scummy to twist what she gave us because we don't have the full picture. A lot of careers are not about the song or acting quality. There are a class of reporters that make it their mission to tear down a singer, actor, politician for the sake of putting their career up on top. "I am the reporter that exposed John Smith for who he really is!" The reporter's article has nothing in it about how well John Smith performed in The Phantom Of The Opera. It is all written garbage. John Smith eats Mrs. Smith's apple pies and uses Old Spice Deodorant. On John Smith's day off he likes abuse puppies and kittens. These hack writers are a dime a dozen and will get eaten and spit out in the next month. Reporters use to have class and credibility. That has gone right out the window. It is being first and how much dirt and smut you can write about a performer. This is so sad today. Performers are real people with positive and negative in their life. Wish the reporters would stick to reporting on their performance and substance.

ELIZABETH GRANT grew up a few tons over. They have SO MUCH MONEY. She didn’t struggle. I love her but I personally know for a fact that’s a lie. She never struggled financially. Did she struggle to become famous? No not really. I was 20 when she was basically a refined industry plant. Read the first article where she says she lives in a trailer and came from nothing and she makes up stories about how she got her name etc. I love her and I LOVE the PR and marketing. It was genius. But it was very much created by her label and done very well at that. Just too many easy lies that are so transparent for anyone who grew up near here or went to the same private schools or fordham.

Not only in Tropico the music video (that's what you're referencing I'm guessing) but in Ultraviolence she had several verses in spanish. Like In West Coast she sings, "He's crazy y Cubano como yo." She is literally saying, "He's crazy and Cuban like me." You're the one who doesn't know what you're talking about and who needs to get over themselves. As an actual Latina, I know my culture when I see it by someone dying their hair dark and being ambiguous about their ethnicity, but I understood it's just an expression of her admiration and didn't care like most Latin fans. I do think suddenly speaking differently because she's hangingout with and listening to boring 'indie kitchen voice' singers and embracing some rich, white person aesthetic is strange and shows how out of touch she's become.
