Thank you for all of you for all of the interviews that you have shared. I just read that Mr. Kerwin passed away. He was such a talented young man & the show, " JAMES AT 15 ...& 16" was so intelligent. Wow, sad indeed. He and this program, (that was way ahead of its time), reminds me of such a wonderful time in my life. We'd always discuss each episode on the school bus after it had aired the night before. 62 is far too young to have passed. May he Rest in Peace, & my thoughts go out to his family.

Wow! What a throwback. Kerwin made quite the impression on me and I always thought about what he was doing if I didn't see him on TV or in the movies ... and ... I had a crush on him, too. It's so sad that he has passed away so soon.

I think it was only one season. NBC was trying a lot of experimental shows at that time. I wish people had given them more of a chance.

Agreed. I discovered the show during the pandemic and was quite impressed with it. A shame it only lasted 1 season!

I remember when they changed the name of the show to James at 16, partially because they had him lose his virginity and were afraid how certain segments of the population (you know who I'm talking about) would react if he was still 15. When the series started in September 1977 Lance was 2 months away from his 17th birthday in early November 1977...What is strange here was that he looked like he was about 12 yo ...

Oh God, didn't know he had passed. I was just going back and looking at things I still fondly remember from growing up during 1970's. I really identified with him and was totally convinced that I was the same age as him both during James at 15 & 16. Well, I am 60-years old now so realize he was older. Hmmm... he died at 62-years old. I have long held the belief that 72 will be my number, but obviously I could be off by about 10-years.

Lance never had a problem with drugs or alcohol. He did not have an Eight Is Enough flaw. Lance is awesome - present tense.
