I owned a 2000 gtv and now a berlina 2000. I also own a fulvia 1600 HF. They both drive fantastic. The frontwheel driven fulvia is a typical rally car, fw drive, faster, raw, more nimble and overall better engineering. The alfa's 105 are fantastic rw drive cars with a lott of charisma. I could not choose between the two. And why would you. Just see the beauty in both.

Guys you have gone to the trouble of getting a camera man, a presenter, a shiny red car - but please do your research correctly especially when talking about a car that had a rally winning variant. Most of what you are referring to is just a sketchy pastiche of the previous owners representation of the HF model which this is not. It’s not difficult call upon a car club which will most probably be more than happy give you the correct run down of a car.

When cars are this small, the FWD dynamics are different, just ask anybody who had a Sud. Another commenter compared this to a Fiat 124 coupe. They do both have an airy greenhouse. I like the 124 coupe and am an Alfa guy so a GT jr is always a like, but this seems like the perfect 1300 with a pair of dual throat carbs. The alfa world is too in love with the Guilia GT, this is refreshingly different and the engineering of Lancia, and build quality, are equal or surpass equivalent Alfas. The automotive world was better when Alfa and Lancia were independent, although neither could stay afloat building drivers cars.

I love the Fulvia, my father had one and I've got fond memories of it, apart from the fact that he sold it the week i became old enough to drive! This review needed less talking about the bleeding obvious and more about the history of this particular car. Also, there was a bit much blue smoke to attract serious buyers surely?

You say the 1,3 Rallye sits between the std Fulvia and the 1,3S and HF variants… but badging on the rear suggests it is in fact a 1,3S ? Nice looking example in principle, but unoriginal dash and instrumentation, seats, unnecessary kill switch, molded wheel arches, don’t add to it. Also, has the engine been worked? If so, this would add to sale enthusiasm.

Its rather this FWD against Alfa’s RWD. Do not forget the likewise RWD Fiat 124 Coupe, 1400-1800 marvellous Lampredi twincam, 5speed and disc’s all ’round. I think it looks best out of this trio too, IMHO. (Apart from being the overall better car, according to roadtesters both then & now).

@@agorlucio7683 no, the rallye 1,3 (86hp) is only a few HP over the std Fulvia coupe, the 1,3S (91hp) a little bit up on that, and the 1,3HF (100hp) 1967 was the homologation model. Prior to that the 1,2HF was the homologation model. Eventually you had the 1,6HF (113hp) in 1969.
