Omg that’s why fragrance is so personal because Idole is so captivating on me. I immediately bought the biggest bottle in a gift set. It lasts forever on me and I receive a minimum of 3 compliments each time I wear it. This stuff has to be one of my favorite designer perfume releases this year along with Born in Roma!! ❤️❤️

Thanks for reviewing it! I didn’t like it enough to buy it as I’m not a big fan of lady musk either but I can appreciate that it’s a quality perfume and many will love it. Not Lancôme’s best, but way better than Dior Joy.

December 2022...im late but I purchased Idole and my goodness. I love this scent. This is such a juicy scent and smells wonderful on me. The opening is bright and radiant...the dry down is much more calm kind of creamy vanilla autumn day. On me this is truly wonderful and dare I say such an easy pull, everyday and even possibly a signature scent. Scents and chemistry are so individualized. I'm glad I came to see how you experienced it and love how you say "on me". Thank you

I actually really love this one sooo much. So I got the roller ball to try it and typically roller balls won’t last on me if I am not also able to “spray” the perfume on my clothes but this is really lasting. It smells like daisy dream which is one of my all time favorite smells but not perfumes because that doesn’t last at all...but this one does and it really does dry down to a soft sweet scent and smells so good. I cannot wait to get the actual perfume spray. As for the bottle I could care less...☺️❤️

The guy that I love bought this for me for Christmas. He got me the entire gift set of lotion, full-size, purse size, and mini glass vial . He loves the way I smell in it. I love it too, but I can’t help but feel like it smells so familiar to me. The only thing I can think of is Estee Lauder Pleasures? What are your thoughts? That was my fragrance in high school back in 1997/1998 LOL

I am a big fan of J’adore by Dior...and to me Idôle has a lot in common with J’adore. I don’t mind the bottle. It can be very practical when it comes to putting it in a makeup bag and taking it in the road, or even in a clutch purse when going out. Ultimately, I love the rose note in this perfume. It comes across as green, fresh note...like smelling a freshly cut rose with green petals still attached to it. And transition between the pear and rose notes into a musk base works well on my skin. It makes a statement without ever offending anyone. Thanks for your honest review...but I can see myself purchasing this fragrance time and time again.

I love it too! I agree with you about everything. It does dries down sweet and is a sweeter version of Chloe.

When I smelt it I thought it is pretty much a sweeter version of Versace's Bright Crystal. *With a lot of artifical* "pear" (?), I suppose (which as you said, definitely smelt more like lychee). It's not a bad scent, and very likeable actually but the question is, one has to decide if they need a sweeter version of Bright Crystal in their life. As always, great review with that canine-strong nose 🤗😅

@Serena ChairsI didn't say it's an exact or even slightly competitive copy of Bright Crystal. However it has a strong resemblance. This is very sweet and a bit woody compared to that but when I smelt it what it immediately made me think of is that it's trying to tap the same vein with the fragrances such as BC, with a sweeter approach. @@DeliciousDelights Hey Arlene! Na miss kita aking kaibigan =) I hope you and Marc are doing great! BC is a really soft and timid scent revolving around peony and rose, based on a shy musk with yuzu on top. I smell that on my younger sister pretty often. Like I said, I can't say that this is a copy of it but rather wanders around in a similar ballpark, as the rose in this kinda gives off a peony like vibe (I guess that's caused by sweetness, which definitely smells like lychee rather than pears. Otherwise it's a very artifical attempt to a pear accord). I much prefer BC, because it has a story to tell. I can't believe they obnoxiously market this one with the "scent of the future" slogan. It definitely doesn't bring anything new, let alone groundbreaking or unique. Seeing your reply made me happy 😊 Hope to catch up soon!

I tried it, it is just a floral fruity scent, no lasting power on my skin, it disappear within 15 minutes, really not worth the money, lancome I really know you can do better; one of your best underrated perfume is Poeme,, so lancome pleeeease, this IDOLE is a nooooo😩😩😩

Honestly, most new releases are pretty disappointing unfortunately and yes, the bottle is definitely weird lol. I haven't tried the new Issey Miyake yet, hopefully I can soon. Cheers! :D

I have a very different experience with this scent... Smells sweet and juicy from beginning to the end of the day and receive a tones of compliments, especially from men! And there is no patchouli at all in it by the way, I hate patchouli!

No way! Not at all. Two very different smells. I wore Dior Jadore for many years and then my husband started buying me Idole. I absolutely love both, but they are very different smells.

I hate how everything in the mainstream market smells the same! I read an article where houseswill use the same DNA that has already been used just to save money. Apparently they add a few variations to make it "different" or aim for dupes to compete in the market. I don't understand how we as consumers can take the designer perfume houses seriously. There is no art in it at all! I'm hoping to find originality in the niche markets.

Lancome Idole is actually new, but there are a few other perfumes with the name Idole. The one most people probably think of is Idole D'Armani by Giorgio Armani which was released ten years ago. Lubin also has a fragrance called Idole and then Guerlain has Idylle, with its various flankers.

It’s pronounced E doll. It has the ugliest bottle I’ve ever seen. I had a sample but couldn’t smell it because by the time I received it in the mail it spilled out of the sample pack and was dried up.
