@@bountyhunter_5150 Tanks aren't very cheap so belgium could only buy a few ones also has the belgian army build a defense strategy where the tanks would be useless

Would it be nice to have tanks? Yes. Would it be practical to have tanks? No. The Belgian army only has 1 active combat brigade meaning that any tank would serve primarily in an infantry support role. Tanks, especially MBTs are wasted in that role if it’s the only thing they will be doing. MBTs are naturally offensive weapon systems and should be use as such. Infantry support is best left to wheeled guns which the Belgians already have.

@@andrewwiggins9262 The last Leopard 1 left in 2014. We still have the experience to rebuild our tankforce. Yes it costs money but we can't stay a social welfare state forever. NATO HQ is here etc.
