LAND LAW - Lecture introducing the LRA 2002 PRIORITY RULES by a UK university lecturer

An introduction to the system of land registration and the Land Registration Act 2002 ss.27, 28 and 29 (The Register of Title, Registrable Dispositions, minor interests and interests which override). The lecture is for law students who are studying for an LL.B, PGDL, CILEX or similar and are either new to studying land law or who wish to consolidate their understanding when preparing for an assessment.

what i am a little confused is on @21:41 where after registration and transference of legal title why the new owners have both legal and equitable title, if the title has been registered. doesn't that create a legal title, which is more prevalent than an equitable title? what is the relevance of the equitable title?

If they are not holding the land on trust for a third party (i.e. someone who isn't a legal owner) they will own both the legal and equitable title. They hold the land as legal owners on trust for themselves as beneficial (equitable) owners. This may be confusing if you haven't studied co-ownership of land yet.
