Lovely. 2014 I started the Dulcimer and enjoyed it. 2017 I sold all and started Ukulele and still play Uke. Of course with your strings!

I have played the dulcimer for a number of years and own three! However, about 10 years ago I got "hooked" on the ukulele. This inspires me to take the dulcimer off the wall and start playing again.

You should do just that. Having earned my living from ukulele for the last 15 years, I find it really enjoyable to have a change.

One of my favourite instruments. I am happy to see you now have one and I hope to see more from you in the future.

That sounds lovely Ken! I used to have a dulcimer but never learned to play it. After hearing this, I wish I'd kept it!

Thank you, Michelle. It is a hard instrument to play well, but, like the ukulele it is easy to play simply like I am doing.

Hello Ken...Do you offer for free or for purchase any of your dulcimer tablature? I started playing the dulcimer in 1983, but stopped playing several years ago. After taking up ukulele, and following you here, I discovered your dulcimer music too. I'm inspired now to pick up and play my dulcimers again.

No, I have not tabbed out any dulcimer pieces. But a good way to learn is to copy what I am doing, but don't be afraid to change or simplify any parts, or to add your own techniques like hammer-ons or slides.

@@KenMiddletonUkulele Thank you. I started to do this with Land of the Silver Birch, Near the Cross, and You Are My Sunshine. Your videos seem fairly easy to follow along with. I'll continue this way and perhaps jot down some tabs for them.

@@Cynthia-S7 Just remember to vary the strum in the right hand, particularly at the end of phrases. You can also practise without ornaments (hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, etc.) and put them in when you have learned the tune.
