Thanks for the video , we all have to start somewhere, and watching others do it helps us to understand better 😊

Bought a used b2301 and it came with the post hole digger, this was exactly what I needed.

I'm with you. Don't leave the auger in the ground. It won't last. Water/ rust will kill it. All the farmers around me use a post off there barns/ maga carports. So that's what I do. After it's strapped, I swing it in.

Another great video, I plan on building a front auger for my bx.. you can buy a low flow motor and build a mount for a skid steer plate and I’ll be able to use it once I get my 3rd function. When I build it I’ll show you the video

People say the bx won’t have enough hydraulic flow but I’ve seen tractors run them with 8GPM or less.. will it spin slowly? Sure but it would work I know it would
@MrRsj8034 жыл бұрын
Don't buy a low flow auger. Buy a standard and just buy a PTO driven hydraulic pump and a couple long hoses. This way you won't overheat the tractors pumps

@@BiffsEquipment just ran across this now.. funny thing is landpride now makes one for the bx series sa10

Great info. Is there a way to suspend the auger up while moving the tractor? I find my auger is a hair too long and drags on the ground when all the way up.
@ODLife Жыл бұрын
I have an auger that I got from Tractor supply that is too long. I actually store the PHD now on a pallet without the auger on it. So now when I hook up to use, I actually don't put auger on until I get to my spot I'm using it. Then if moving short distances it is OK (mine only drags in spots that front end lifts up). Once I used a long scrap piece of wood to brace it up with tip pointing up.

Nice thing about a tractor with hydrostatic so much easier to drill your holes straight

You was complaining about it being the worst part of messing with 3pt hitches when trying to hook up the pins..look up Mark Hodge and his company "Stabilworks" sway arms. No turning to adjust and never have to worry about them twisting loose either. They have pins that snap into place and when you want to unhook your implement...just pull the pins and swing the arms out. Mark special builds them to fit each specific tractor. I just bought a set for my bx25 for $190. Best investment so far!!

I've heard of them, they are definitely on my wish list.

You might have already figured it out , but it looks like there are pins on the inboard side of the hoop that might help you hook it up and take it apart with less trouble.

yeah, I have used both, habit to use outside pins.

How did you disconnect your drive shaft from your rear pto so fast? I've got a 2016 tractor and a new post hole digger, and I'm having a hell of a time getting it off. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
@ODLife7 жыл бұрын
+Nrfa I've had trouble in the past. Knowing how the latches work helped and making sure they are greased well and putting PTO switch in a position other than the rear (allows it to spin freely). This video helped. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6mQYYqljt2YkJo

I thought most 3 point hitches could be raised manually to assist in the connection of tools.
@ODLife8 жыл бұрын
They can be lifted manually but it is still a pain.

Pain in the arse connecting an auger. I made steel stand that it sits in, I’m selling it though, I need deeper holes, getting an auger for the loader instead
@billyunck37267 жыл бұрын
Check and make sure the cutter blades on the auger are sharp... just like an auger bid . second thing is that small tractors are not power down only up. Gravity is the only thing pushing it down other the weight of the post hole digger... If you are digging into very hard ground like clay you may not be able to dig a hole..

I have a Massey 2310 ( 23 HP ) .....would this work with a this size of tractor and what sort of depth would i expect ?
@ODLife8 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it would but you might want to do a little more research first. The depth would depend on the length of the auger.
@dgsports698 жыл бұрын
This is a 9 in wide bit and not 6. The 6 in bit only has one cutter on each side to drill thought the ground.

Had to laugh watching this. I built a rolling cart that articulates for easy hook-up and un-hook. Plus my tool is kept inside ...insteaded and strapped and tarped to a tree!
