I got mine in February took it to Moab a couple weeks ago. Didn’t do any rock climbing but did take it off road on some fun tracks. It preformed amazing and the 1100 mile trip to Moab was comfortable and it really gets up and goes when you need it to.

@@ZonaDeluxeOficial Hey - I did, yes. Had it for a few months now. So far it's been OK... Two minor issues: 1) The car told me the key was disabled, so I couldn't start it. what has been an icon is now just another ridiculously expensive mainstream SUV stuffed with unreliable hightech gizmos, in which fancy gadgets and infotainment became more important than the adventure for which the Defender was a symbol. With other words: “just another rich peoples children taxy or luxurious dentists status symbol“ And if your uncle really is a massive Defender Fan who probably owns a real one, why should he be jealous of this? As well he could be jealous of any other super comfortable upper class SUV.

The only big issue is those wheels. Cannot be used seriously off road with 20 rims. That leaves very little side wall. Those tires will puncture on most rocks. You cannot get proper wheels on the new Defender. It's really the only weakness which is a huge problem.

It's not a workhorse anymore. It has become too posh and too luxurious to do any off-road or any filthy work. It's a big shame really that those with the old Defender are electing to keep their old vehicles for the foreseeable future just to avoid buying this new Range Rover-ized Defender. JLR were supposed to get this one right especially considering the cult following of the old Defender. But nope, the top brass prioritized the bottom line instead of a direct Defender replacement. This version will sell well. But only to people who live in the cities and spend the lifetime of this new Defender filling its boot with groceries and kids toys. And yes, it's also naturally very expensive.
@Salsgarageadventures2 жыл бұрын
That's one hell of an opinion you got there.
@supercrazysane2 жыл бұрын
Problem is the cult following isn’t big enough to make it a commercial viable rationale, farmers moved away from these years ago, in favour of pickups and many of those cult followers would still likely keep their original heritage editions. The INEOS Grenadier will be akin to the old defenders so the option is still out there. Personally, (I have the 90 P400 X) the new Defender is a fantastic car for everyday use, has a nice blend of modern features and tech with a utilitarian feel. So 10 out of 10 in my book, but each to their own. 🙏
