An excellent job to get your son involved with. He will someday look back on these, as special times. I restored an old Jaguar many years ago and when I was done had an unusual problem. At around 100 miles an hour, I got a very annoying whine from the passenger seat! Funny enough, I only heard it when my wife was in the car.😂🤣 It will be fun to watch your progress.👍👍

Yes it sure is and it’s a lot easier when you can get replacement parts easily. I’m hoping that all this elbow grease will result in a neat aged D90

Keen to see your rear door fix. Mine (like many) have done the same. Also want to add a little piece in that same door member on the left side (connected to the vertical member) why LR cut that out i just dont know. Heater controls on mine were the same. check other end too hehe

Thanks for the feedback. I need to get to that back door now, just planning to weld the door and maybe brace it as you say

I rewelded mine and took the rear spare off the door. There is not a lot of space to brace. The door cracks through the windscreen wiper mount hole. If you brace it the wiper shaft gets too short on the outside. The drivers door alsu usually cracks off just forward of the inside lock slider causing the whole window carrier assbly and door card to come loose.

Our TDI has the same issue regarding the injection pump... who did your rebuild or supplied you with a recon unit?

I took it to Ray at Rays Fuel Injection In Krugersdorp. He really know his stuff and will definitely sort it out
