Strong, but still not as safe as a normal passenger car. If you don't regularly go off road you don't need a big jeep. All you're doing is reducing everyones life expectancy.

Unless the car behind has the same then it's just a queue of cars stopping suddenly. I prefer to watch 3 cars ahead so I'm slowing down gently before the 2 cars in front get tangled up.

80lakh defender is a base model I guess. I don’t have much knowledge of India but I own Defender 110 v8 model in Canada which is as same rate of G wagon and Yes Defender is way better than G wagon.

Because the plastics on the LR were static but underside destroyed ..? Whereas the DB plastics crumpled as they’re supposed to..? Considering the G Klasse hasn’t really changed it’s in 40+ years as the LR is a completely new vehicle, the overall ratings is negligible, thus resulting DB originally designed and built a better vehicle that is rated equally if not better than most large off Road vehicles... 2020 LR Defender results... 2408kg AO 85% CO 85% VRU 71% SA 79% Euro 5 Star Rating 2019 DB G Klasse results... 2451kg AO 90% CO 83% VRU 78% SA 72% Euro 5 Star Rating 2018 Jeep Wangler results ... 2089kg AO 50% CO 69% VRU 49% SA 32% Euro 1 Star Rating Adult Occupancy Child Occupancy Vulnerable Road Users Safety Assist Obviously the Wrangler was just an example, but the LR being better in a crash scenario is biased, based on its following (British Built) by residents of said country who are “fan boys”, but not on relevant facts, as the DB G klasse overall beats it, it may only be marginal as we need to take in account of its design predates the LR by 4 decades... Back to your original comment, So did the LR do better overall...?

@@Incountry Mechanically the current G wagen is almost 100% different than previous models. Suspension, Chassis, panels... all different. Probably the only part carried over are the door locks.

@@3204clivesinclair Seriously it’s not, it’s based on the original ladder chassis, suspension modification updates are drive shafts at the front, engines and gearboxes are irrelevant, transfer case is the same, the stance is widen through track for stability as paved road comfort, obviously font suspension is different to accept the front drivetrain layout, otherwise it’s the same with cosmetic changes for a civilian life... I’ve already stated this in an earlier comment on the same subject on this video....

@@Incountry 2021 wrangler rubicon that I got 5 months ago, here in Canada, has full autonomous braking "front and rear", largest diameters disc brakes, plus additional rear drum in the hat brake "that Defender does not have". Front and rear bumpers on American continent are 4mm thick steel with sensors built in that work together with front and rear cameras to ensure full autonomous emergency breaking. Headlights are full bright led. Curb weight of 4 door rubicon with 3.6L etorque mild hybrid is 2245kg. Obviously Jeep did listen to critics and corrected few things.

On impact in two tests notice how the unoccupied seat in the rear of the G Class flipped forward like mad and it didn’t on the defender, which is safer for rear passengers it seems

În the g, the seats without passengers are made to fold down because this way, the chinetic energy from the seats is being transmitted down to the chassis and not forward for a little bit of less damage

One thing most people don't realise with NCAP tests. A large vehicle with a 1 star rating would still be better than a small car with 5 stars. Think of a large lorry. 44 tons. Against a concrete block the driver would be dead. All that weight crushing the cab. But Against a car the lorry would crush it.

The Landrover and Mercedes both seemed to handle these tests well. I'm actually quite surprised about the results for the G-Class. Considering it's based on an older body design. It really did fine. Nothing to be particularly concerned about for either vehicle. If the test compared the old to the new Defender I imagine the differences would be quite apparent.

There are videos from other angles somewhere online where you can see that the test messuring equipment was in the boot (tied down) and they had (for whatever reason) most likely unlatched one side of the rear seat backrest for the cabelling of the dummies. Whe i first saw the crash test videos of the new G-class i thought the same as you, and read the Euro NCAP article, and they didn't mention any problem with the seats. And so i looked for more videos and found some. But it's 2 years ago i think so i can't tell you where to find them exactely.

Most likely due to the wiring being connected through the Airbag/steering column. Also certain cars/vehicles horns chirp 3x after airbags have deployed 😊
