Awesome tips!! Have to tackle this headliner project soon as I see some water coming into from what it looks like the right-front column pillar. Can I ask you what type of liner did you buy to replace the existing one? Which store did you buy it from?

I tried at local fabric stores, but nothing was wide enough, I went on Amazon and just ordered some foam backed material

Hi there, where did you get sheep skin seat covers? I’ve heard that authentic sheep will keep cool during warmer months & keep warm during colder months, any truth to this? or how about overall comfort. I am in the deep South, so don’t want something that is gonna feel nasty to sit on when I’ve been sweating. Also, nice video, i’ve finally gotten a roof rack for mine & mounted 4 safari lamps to it, but they aren’t wired up yet. Also been having a bit of issue (somewhat minor) w/ leaks in front map holder area. So might just take care of both at once as you mentioned in the video.

Hi, I actually got them at Costco. Yes they are fine in the hot summer months as well as in winter! They are quite comfortable and I recommend them. Yes, mine was also leaking from the map holder area and it was really coming from the outer seal on the sun roof. If you have the header out, you may as well completely remove the sun roof by unscrewing all screws and pushing it up from inside to release. Then clean off the old sealant and use new silicone (lots of it) and re-install and you should be all set!

Thanks for the reply! We don’t have costco here in Alabama, so I might look on their website. I’ve seen where there actually used to be OEM LR sheepskin covers for the Discovery, RRC, & P38… man wouldn’t it be cool to find a set of those. Complete unobtanium of course.

Where did you run the wire for the rear light?

I ran it directly from the battery, through the firewall, up the driver side front pillar , where I added switches, and along the roofline all the way to the back, they were already wires and other stuff up there to tie it to. Pro tip, I also wrapped some of the wiring and stuff with thin foam to keep it from rattling around on the roof 🤙🏻

I've got passenger side (US/right hand) floor water, do you know how I can find the front sunroof drain outlet?

I'm sorry I don't know exactly where the outlet is. I suspect it's inside of the front fender. Have you tried blowing it out with compressed air? That should do it. Another thing that gave me water on the passenger side floor in the past was, heavy use of the air conditioner in very hot weather. It was not common but it did happen. Could that be it?

@@nurotec mmm...nothings taken apart at the moment and I'm a bit reluctant to disassemble just to do an air test - if I thought I could do it from the open sunroof with the right tube I'd definitely try. I've been under it, I can't find the outlets anywhere, need to find both

@@matthewmarkert Hi Matt, I thought you had it apart. Looking at mine, you can't get to the drain tube from the outside. You can however remove the large map-holder switch assembly simply by removing about 12 screws and taking it down, then you can pull the headliner down a bit by bending the the trim around the sunroof and pulling the header down and you will see the drain tube connected to the black metal pan. Be careful not to break the plastic connector that goes to the tube when your trying to get it off! (that could also be the source of your leak, very common) That's the best idea I have for you. NOTE: The holders for the visors are really hard to get out and back in! Just flip the cover down for the screw, undo and pry out. Round them down a bit to make them easier to get back in They also like to break ;-)

@@nurotec so this is good advice, I'm going to try it. I attempted to guide some trimmer wire into the hole blind, and even bought an endoscope to visualize and failed miserably. Then I had another idea and tapesealed the front plastic cowl against the windshield and thought I had it licked....but....I didn't. Last question for now: the tube that runs from the front left (drivers) drip tray to the frame....does it run down the pillar or enter into the door? Where does the actual tube run? In your video I see the tube immediately to the left/inferior to the roof bolt for the rack, where your wiring is coming through, but where does it go from there?

@@matthewmarkert Hey Matt, sorry I didn't see this earlier! That tube runs roan the pillar and disappears down into the body. It's not in the door. I think it drains out in the fender but I'm not sure. It has to be in there somewhere ;-)
