Land Rover Discovery 2 Headliner Sunroof Fix

My D2 sunroofs were leaking rain water all inside the headliner like a shower. Here's what I did to fix it!
Short version: the plastic nipples on the corner drain boxes on the front sunroof broke off, so the drain tubes were free floating in the roof. I drilled out the plastic with a 3/8" bit, threaded in a brass 3/8 fuel line fitting, and voila! Permanent fix.

Nice I had the same thing I took the whole sunroof out and re sealed them. I noticed the seal they used was actually just foam tape it was shit. Also I did the truck bed liner for the ceiling it worked great. But get the spray I found the roll on was shit

I'm replacing my head liner soon on my 04 D2 with fabric, but throwing out map holder, the look terrible, not a fan of the spray on bed liner , on broken off plastic studs jb weld will fix once cured strong bond

@@jamesray3920 after having done spray, I'd do fabric next time. You can get good deals on headliner from JoAnn Fabric stores if you have one near you.

Replaced my roof with new fibreglass and new lining, but have a problem with condensation running off the roof and soaking the new lining on the edges.

The thought of off-gassing has got me second guessing the bed liner decision, and going back to factory would require a new panel 😕 Where did you source yours? Maybe in your car moisture is getting in elsewhere? Triple check your drainage? My understanding is that a car is more like a sealed envelope than one that relies on a thermal gradient to slow temperature change. Have you tried leaving a window cracked or vents open to see if that helps moisture escape?

Actually got my fibreglass roof and lining off e-bay. Have dropped the roof again and tested drains, all ok. Literally see the water on the inside of the roof. Good thought you had re cracking window open at night. Always used to. Try that first before re foaming underside of fibreglass.

@@BrianBarnettTX hi. Actually got a self made fibreglass roof with new lining off e-bay. Looks like it really needed a small thickness of sponge to prevent condensation, at least stopping the easy run of water. Used to leave windows ajar, must start doing it again and poss take off roof and stick thin foam to roof. Have been seeing that it is a re-occuring problem in disco's with condensation.
