I have a disco2 from ace conversion. Have over 7,000 moles on it and couldn’t be happier

Did you use the 5.3? I’m thinking of using an LS1, seeing as I’ve got one in my garage.

Hello. Great video. Can you tell me what dip stick and tube you used? And we’re you able to verify that you got the stick Lowe enough to get past the windage tray?

Thanks! I got the NAL-12551581 Engine Oil Dipstick for Chevy Pontiac 5.7 from Summit. I filled with recommend oil amount and then just etched a line where the approximate Full label would be.

Hey, thanks for the share. I have the same engine I'm swapping into a 78 K10. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to do about the oil pan. What size drill bit did you use? Did you have to modify the dipstick?

Hey man looking at doing this swap myself, how good are the instructions in the kit/how user friendly is it? I've pulled a few D2 motors but have wanted to do an ls swap for a while but have been hesitant.

The instructions are pretty straightforward, sometimes could be a little clearer. The job is made up of several little projects really. Tearing down and cleaning up the LS is a great way to learn the LS too if you weren't already familiar. I had only previously done a head gasket so I'm pretty green tbh, but I have managed to avoid having to reach out to ACE for anything thus far.

@@mattcoats That’s good to hear. I’ve also been waiting on the right disco to come along to swap I guess but was kinda hoping to find somebody who actually worked with the kit and could review it. I’ll be following the rest of the build for sure.

@@EtowahValleyRovers I was hoping for the same, but also it creates a niche to document it. I guess this first one was just to get an idea of how it works but so far I'd happily do it again. But glad someone is watching, I'll keep at it!
