I used to after lots of big holes or sand remove the plastic cladding and clean behind them… be careful and buy replacement mount plugs cause I managed to always break one or two. Hahaha but we’ll worth it for stopping build up.

Very nice, did you leave the car in raised height the whole time? Or was it forcing itself back to ride height due to speed on the open beach?

Hi Garreth, yes you are right the suspension did go down over 80 but with a LAMS lift kit you can. The suspension is so smooth inland.

I can see your tire is BF 275/55/R20 at genuine wheels. but i want to know if you install any additional parts (Hub spacer or lifter). Thanks in advance. i also have LD5.

The BF 275/55/R20 fits the D5 without any changes to the car. No contact with car at all.The new BF Goodrich - Trail-Terrain T/A may be worth a look. As the KO2 ages it seems to be getting noisier and not that good in rain on highways.

Hi Robert, the day after Mother's Day the 10th of May 21. It is a good time to miss the crowds.

Hi Leigh, Out of interest, how often did you use low range on the island? Thanks
@leighwilson1524

Hi Claire, I did not use low gear at all. I went onto Fraser the day after Mothers Day and it was very quite. There were no hoons to chew up the sand so my conditions were good. I did a sand driving course before I went (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2bWkoCJg9GraMk) and they told the Land Rover Discovery drivers to use high gear and manual shift in soft sand between 2000 & 3000 rpm. Stability control off. You have to remember each time you restart to turn off Stability Traction control. Have fun and thanks for watching

@@leighwilson1524 Thanks Leigh for the advice. I had spoken to another Disco owner recently who said a similar thing about the manual shift in soft sand in high range. We've just purchased a Sd4 S without dual range. Will be looking to do a similar course to learn the most about capability of the vehicle. Thanks again.

On gravel roads you do 20 psi? I have 20 inch rims, I've taken it down to 25 psi, scared of going lower
@leighwilson1524

On gravel roads I use normal road pressure. I was told by the Land Rover Experience Instructor to do that because it protects the 20" rims and sidewalls and the off road technology can look after the traction. The Instructor's moto was "Slow as possible - Fast and necessary .

@@leighwilson1524 I have all terrain XL tires, before I had e load rating , but they were too harsh

@@plantpower3048 Your tyres would have very strong sidewall so they should be safe at 25 I think.. I have a video on my Land Rover Experience using road then. I used 44psi. Now have GF Goodrich KO2s and find the ride ok on dirt tracks.

@@leighwilson1524 Land Rover are the best and looking after control and environment. Slow as possible fast as necessary is exactly how their electronics work and do brilliantly. Hold lower revs but stable in event of wheel spin and it works itself out, rather than pump the accelerator or as most people do stop right as it’s about to do it’s magic.

@@offroadingfoz I practiced launch control before going to Fraser (I did not what to let the Land Rover Team down) and was amazed just how easy it gets out of a bog.
