Good morning Steve, thanks for sharing some brightness in these unsettling times, great to see another Land Rover running and stopping (sort of). I hope the brakes are a simple fix. I’ve been busy crafting a new wiring loom for my friends 1960 Series 2, and next is to make one for my Series 1. With the snow nearly all gone, I plan to go and recover this from the paddock it’s been put out to pasture in. No brakes. 4 flat tyres and not running, so will be fun to get her closer to home to work on. I wish you and your family my best for good health. Take care and stay safe out there, cheers Ian

Giday Ian, Thanks for the update, we have not been working on the Series 2A electric conversion either due to isolating, who knows when I will be able to get back out to Johns place , so I am beginning to understand your frustration of being a distance from your S1 project. You need to do a video on making the looms, that would be a very useful share? I am not use to the restrictions of staying put like you snow bound folk, it does give me plenty of time to catch up on this project and spend some lovely time on our farm doing what I enjoy and hanging out with my lovely wife and dogs, not all bad :-). I might have to start a self reliance youtube channel ;-) Good health and safety to you and yours mate!

Vintage Restorations Australia. Hi Steve, sorry to hear that you can’t work on the EV for a bit, but good to know life is enjoyable on the farm, with your partner, pups, chickens the great outdoors. For sure, I will be happy to send you some footage about my making the wiring looms for my S1 and friends S2. I don’t have a dedicated video camera. Would a phone video do, if yes, what sort of resolution would you recommend please. All the best from the slowly unfreezing North. Thanks, Ian

Giday Steve, hope you are all well and thoroughly de-greased! Start ya bass did the trick - awesome stuff, but can you spray it on the brakes? Stop ya bastard! Nice shiny new carb looks the business and doesn't she run well? Now i'm really worried - you and Stu talking with the chooks...grab the eggs and get the breakfast on. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎🐶🦴🐔🦘

Hey Pedro, thanks mate, I am well impressed with the carby, bolt on and go, so good to hear her running again, I am super keen to get it on the road!. I reckon you are a marketing genius with "Stop ya Bastard break repair" but I think they call that an anchor? Stu and I are good mates, I thought the chook skit might give him a laugh (and we all need a laugh) :-) take care of yourself.

@@VintageRestorationsAustralia hey I'm thinking of getting a off road shtf vehicle I wanted a military Humvee but too unreliable and to big slow so I'm thinking of a 1957- diesel land Rover series 1 or a Toyota fj 40 or fj 45 truck which you think better
@VintageRestorationsAustralia4 жыл бұрын
@@AlejandroP1980s Interesting question John a Series 1 and a Toyota FJ are pretty different. I have owned an FJ 45, great truck, super reliable, plenty of torque for towing etc very very thirsty on the fuel. Land rover is probably less reliable, smaller motor so less torque but relatively fuel efficient. Parts are probably easier to find for the FJ 45 over the Landy. The Land cruiser is a more robust build (steel) but are rust prone and stupidly heavy and a lot less nimble as a 4 x 4.
@AlejandroP1980s4 жыл бұрын
@@VintageRestorationsAustralia ok thanks I like the look of a 1957 land Rover series 1 but I will make it 2 tank diesel and custom put on a tent in the top and maybe a ladder and haul
