This is where real fenders died. While they were alive, they provided both lower and upper services. Lower kept the dirt from throwing everywhere and the upper was a great seat for an extra passenger. Classic could be broken down without anything extending above the height of the steering wheel and you could take that off also. When is classic shape and motor, I see this vehicle as the transition from the Model T to the junk we have now Which denies home servicing. You can see this classic vehicle as an actor in the movie "the gods must be crazy?" it has no dialogue lines bur ti's slow crawl up the tree provides hey continuous laf from those of us who love it yeah.

Thanks Ian, farm is too big , takes too much time away from playing with Landies :-) We only have a small 12.5 acres lot but 2 x 700 acre farms either side that make it feel a lot bigger. Having the house on the highest hill in the valley makes it feel pretty spacious too. Our shire has an area of 6300km2 with a population of just 33,000 so pretty sparse.

Are the tres a bit hard, they look like they have too much pressure? She probably needs a quarter ton in the back to ride right :o)
@VintageRestorationsAustralia3 жыл бұрын
No, tyres have the right pressure but they are extremely tough 14 ply tyres so no roll in the side walls, I will never have to replace them but I would not recommend them as they are not a great tread for road or off road. The car rides very rigid as it is set up for a load.
@teamidris3 жыл бұрын
@@VintageRestorationsAustralia Thanks for replying. It was when the front axel was hopping on a bit of washboard I was surprised the tyres didn’t soak it up. The front springs did a decent job I thought :o) Mine came with HD rear springs because it was a wrecker and they were mad hard. Hi Russ, Glad you are enjoying the channel, I got the little 109 registered and insured today so another video of it coming up in the next few weeks. I had the local mechanic Ben fit the brake kit and sadly I was busy making $ to pay for it so could not film the entire process, just the section around 1.45 in this video. We basically replaced all the front components with new. The Brake kit came from Series 1 shop but I had some problems with them and suggest another supplier. Cheers Steve

You kinda need a cup of tea & a lie down after driving for any distance . . but it's all good . . I took a fancy to them after finding one under an fallen down bush timber shed on a property I lived on up North Oz for years . . termites had eaten up through one tyre & punctured it (a bad case of wind ensued I dare say) . . a mate diagnosed a stuck clutch slave cylinder , which to previous owner had we presumed looked like an stuffed gear box , it was an 63 ex Oz army/air force , long wheel base well body (red original colour) . . air field 3/4 ton fire fighting unit. . with the much fancied heavy duty axles in rear . . holy hell the punishment I put that old girl through again , I never lost once in grubbing tree's out by their roots (around six inch's was most I dared) . . with a chain & run up & bang , never any issues with engine mounts or wtf , like people complain about with snatching softer with more modern 4x4 's . . I grew to appreciate their strengths
