As much as I love your videos stu, I'm not gonna watch the omnibus having watched the individual episodes. But here's a comment for the algorithm :)

That's very generous Steve 😂 This is mostly an upload for people legitimately using my content as a guide - saves them jumping around videos. York Review Season 4 will begin in a few weeks time

I enjoyed every second of this video. What an amazing adventure that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Such a shame your friend Dom couldn’t finish it. I’m thinking of doing this next year on a 50cc moped. Subscribed 😊👍😊

That's a great comment, welcome aboard! On a 50cc, you might have a similar trip to us (keeping off the motorways at least). Good luck!

@@StatusMirror Thank you. How did you plan your route?
@StatusMirror2 жыл бұрын
@@vetworker Each day I'd load Google Maps, type in a route to John o'Groats, pick a town about 80 miles away en route, and aim for there. For a moped, I'd look up the car route, with motorways unticked. We wild camped, so didn't need to aim for specific B&Bs at the end of the day, which made things a lot easier. If you're doing that, just remember to stick to bigger roads in Scotland (direct routes are too barren)

I've included a list of all our stops towards the end of the video - you could always use that for some general pointers. I don't think you could get a moped onto the Granite Way though

@@StatusMirror of course you did. I’ll make a note of those stops. Thank you

I have heard Bridgwater referred to as many things. Gorgeous is a new one. Thanks that made my day.

It was good! Our camp spot was just behind the Ibis hotel that night

Great video. Thinking of doing it next year for charity - nice to see a wild camp version as that's what I'd do to keep cost down.

The video itself was a comparable effort haha - I never thought I'd hit over 60 mins in one upload

Superb, well done guys. Could you tell me what your daily average mileage was? I appreciate you had mechanical and medical problems. Cheers.
@StatusMirror Жыл бұрын
Sure thing! Our overall average was 68 miles per day, which is on the low side compared to the more sporty cyclists. Don't worry if you get a much lower mileage in the first few days - Cornwall is very hilly. You'd probably also get further if you aren't carrying camping gear.

Awesome. Any idea how much you spent on food that whole time?
@StatusMirror2 жыл бұрын
Oo very good question. Looking at my bank statements from around that time, I think possibly ~£400, or ~£27 per day. You absolutely could have done it cheaper, we were stopping in cafes and pubs for most meals, and had an abundance of snacks. This chance to indulge was one of the main morale sources for me personally. I must have eaten a sensible amount though, as I didn't gain or lose any weight comparing before/after!

@@StatusMirror Thanks for looking into it! I suppose even is you cooked your own you'd be in the supermarkets every day anyway.
