Don't get me wrong, we all love our siblings but growing up, we bicker more than support all the time. Like I never understood the relationship Brothers and Sisters have in Anime of always picking each other up. My relationship with my brother growing up and even my friends with their siblings were always of arguing and fighting. I mean we would all fight to the death for our respective but no way we 'supported' each other, publicly.

Because of Tokyo’s massive population, there is always two teams representing the city. But because the Spring Tournament is going to be held in Tokyo, they get another team to represent them which ended up being nekoma

normally each prefecture only gets 1 school to represent them in nationals, but tokyo is so big they get 2 schools and they're also hosting nationals so they get an extra school

Only reason why Ukai does so much during matches compared to other coaches is because all other teams have a groove and just communicate plans to eachother Karasuno however doesnt really have that groove yet.

I think lots of coaches get screen time people just forget about them, especially since Ukai's coaching screen time is much higher due to being the main characters coach. It's not like Karasuno doesn't create plans on their own. A team like Aoba Johsai's strength is that so they would even more so. Washijo isn't going to change his strategy so he just calls timeouts to yell or give a pep talk.

Since tokyo is big, they ALWAYS send 2 representatives. In this case, itachiyama and fukurodani. And for any region hosting the nationals, they get an extra representative which is called the venue sponsor reps. Which is why Nekoma was able to compete in Nationals. So if by any case, Miyagi was the host of the nationals, Shiratorizawa and Karasuno will both be playing on nationals. And tokyo reps would just be Itachiyama and Fukurodani. I hope this helps to anyone wondering how there is 3 representative for Tokyo prefecture and only one for Miyagi prefecture. ✌🏻

the pacing is kinda weird since they squeezed 20-ish(?) chapters into 2 episodes. I think the most notable moment that didn't make it to the episode is Kuroo defending Nohebi and their tactics when he heard some guys from another losing team trash talk them, I thought that moment really kind of shines a light on Kuroo's character and also gives Nohebi credit for making it as far as they did in the tournament. anyway BALL BOY ARC COMING IN HOT!!!

Since Tokyo is a bigger province 2 teams were allowed to enter the nationals (itachiyama and fukurodani), and since the nationals are being held in Tokyo the venue sponsored another representative to enter which is nekoma 👍👍

In season 1 when karasuno had their first match against nekoma, nishinoya pointed that nekoma's libero is "trouble". He never said to anyone else in the series except itaichiyama's libero when he complemented him. Karasuno vs nekoma match in season 5 will make much more sense why Tokyo's spikers are scared of yaku-san (nekoma's libero)

explaining the 3rd spot Nekoma got:: since Nationals is going to happen in Tokyo, the region get an extra spot as the venue sponsored team. And Tokyo already being a big city with lots of schools, they normally have 2 spots, and in this case 3 because the tournament is happening there. So Itachiyama and Fukurodani get the normal spots and Nekoma got the 3rd one beating Nohebi and going as the sponsored team.

Ukai and Karasuno is still in their early age in terms of 'communication' and sh*t. Plus it's frowned upon at least here in Asia for coaches to just randomly scream/cheer at their team. All the 'coaching' and planning by the Coach is done in the training phase and during the match, it's the team's responsibility to carry out the 'strategies'.

Couldn't agree more. Nohebi take advantage of the rules and boundaries that exist in Volleyball, but it's no different than bluffing in poker or counting cards in a casino. If it works, it works. I'm sorry, but in beach volleyball are people going to say a win doesnt count because of something as random as a sudden gust of wind? What really irritates me is that people like our guys here watch shows like Hunter X Hunter and laud those who find gaps between the rules and use it to their advantage, but because people have a preconceived vision of the sport (devoid of its realities) somehow this is... unfair? Could Nekoma do it? Of course they could, but it's harder than it looks and only gains a few points, so they don't. What makes Nohebi good is that they find gaps in the rules... AND are phenomenal athletes.

Being close the ground is an advantage for a libero for two reasons. First is that it’s easier to dig for a receive, but there’s also a rule that a libero can’t go above the net. If a libero were to reach higher than the net It’s the opposing team point as it would be a faul. That’s also why you rarely see liberos jump

@@MH3Raiser no, he jumps because he aren’t allowed to step past the line except for a jump set like that. He’s still careful not to reach higher than the net. A libero from what I remember can’t cross the line with jump sets being an exception. Either that, or it’s a bad idea to do so, I’m not too sure. But liberos definitely aren’t allowed to reach higher than the net, that I know

To anyone who might not know yet - strongly recommend to read at least the OVAs chapters in the manga (191-206), because sadly quite some content was cut. The stage play, "Tokyo battles", also did a wonderful job adapting these games! Also, Nohebi technically don't cheat - sure, people don't like what they do, and for a reason, but they do not actually go against the rules (or just barely). It is clarified better in the manga, but Nohebi are actually quite good at the game, it's not just "mind games".

@runny they're currently on season 4 ep 10 and so far, they are liking the animation. On ep 1 they said they are all digging the new redesigns and facial features especially the managers and Takeda but lupa san is not settled with the new bumper at all lol

Tbh, the OVA's and first half of season 4 was actually animated quite well, it's just the second half for 2 episodes felt off, beceause they were outsourced due to covid causing a lack of staff. Of course it aint as great as the previous art style, but it is good and gets great and the most hype parts.

I actually liked the animation this way since its close to the manga's art style and plus in the future episode/season, this artstyle will suite better than the previous ones , i can already tell. and yeah, its just so sad that the animation got weird at the second half especially because of covid but not all of the second half tho. Its still pretty but I hope they recover and come back with a even more high quality haikyuu animations for the next season.

A little FIY on Spring Nationals and how the bracket works: 52 teams (47 + 4 + 1) are qualified for the Nationals: 47 teams, one from each prefecture. Hokkaido, Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Osaka each gets an additional team. Tokyo gets another team for hosting the events. 12 teams (4 + 8) get a bye to second round: Top 4 teams from Summer Interhigh (seeded 1 to 4). 8 additional teams (luck of the draw) also get a bye. #1 and #4 are in the same bracket, while #2 and #3 are in the other bracket. In the first round, 40 teams play and 20 teams advance. Second round consists of 32 teams (20 + 12).

This makes it harder for the receiver to position, Yaku can still receive these kinds of balls because he's a goat but new guy isn't Yaku, which Lev realizes himself shortly after.

Nohebi, the green team Nekoma beat who's actually playing the mental games, being goody two shoes and cheating (sort of) in the game. For Kuroo (Nekoma Captain), he got a lot of respect for Suguru and his team on how they fight their battles and they're trying anything to get advantage against any opponent. For a sport like volleyball, I think that's pretty neat.

Tokyo has a very large population so they get two slots to represent them however this year Tokyo is also the host for the nationals and the host always gets an extra slot to represent them so this year Tokyo has 3 representatives.

Liberos aren't short because they can't be spikers but they are usually short because they are far more agile then tall players allowing them to react to 80+km/h Spikes easier
