You have to understand that when Shiratorizawa's coach was trying out for volleyball in high school, the libero position didn't exist yet. Libero position was first introduced in 1998. So he never had a chance to play due to his lack of height. It was really instilled into him that height and power are the only things that matter in volleyball.

@@Limpass610 That is the libero position. A libero is a defensive specialist. He can't block or hit the ball when the ball is above the net. Basically, a libero can only touch the ball when he's in the back row. That is why he a libero sets, he has to jump from the back row. Also, in international rules, a libero is not allow to serve either.

Probably already know this, but Ushijima saying he will defeat Kageyama and Hinata means he’s admitting to their skill. Ushijima is guaranteed to go pro right out of highschool, so this being his last game means he believes that both of them will go pro too, which is a massive compliment.

At this point, I've seen the anime so many times, and read the manga about 2-3 times, and I honestly cannot hate anyone anymore. They're just precious. @@mani3001 same. I’ve never actually hated Ushijima since as a very strong volleyball player, seeing someone who is, basically a newbie compared to him, tell him that he is going to beat their team, which is one of the best, would annoy anyone, in my opinion. It’s good to dream high but others would find it annoying or insulting, I guess. Oikawa was a confusing character for me when I first watched Haikyuu. But the second watch gave me a different perspective of him that I didn’t notice the first watch since I was so focused on being confused about his character. Now he is one of my favourites. Tendo is no doubt creepy as heck but in the end, people are going to love his funny self. The second watch is always better than the first

To Sheera - Shiratorizawa never underestimated anyone. Good teams like Shiratorizawa and Karasuno take any team seriously and as a threat. And that means they all play with their best. Even Hayato (Shiratorizawa's libero) at the beginning said that he's kinda disappointed that they're not playing against Seijoh but he still thinks that playing against a different team was going to be interesting.

Yall may not know this but the voice actor for coach Ukai passed away before the start of season 4 so his quote abt volleyball is one of his most memorable moments

The national youth training camp that Kageyama got invited to is a camp where representatives of Japan under the age of 18 are chosen to go and train for the National team. To sum it up basically a training camp with some of the top high school players in Japan.

for asahi's spike, the last one to touch it was shiratorizawa so even though it was out, it was a point for karasuno

Shiratorizawa’s coach is like Greg Popovich. Tough love bc he understands the difficulty of the path ahead

I'm gonna recommend you to watch the OVA before Season 4, you need to know what happens next before Season 4

They already did, on patreon. On patreon they are already on the match with karasuno and their first national opponent.

As someone that played sports for most of my life. We never have anything bad to say about someone crying after a tough loss. Anyone that plays competitively knows that pain.
