Landcruiser 40 Series | Lithgow - Sunny Corner - Turon - Jackass Hill - Hill End 1 - 2 [2019]

Rob Knight organised a great 40 Series Toyota Land Cruiser 2 day 4wd escape out west of Lithgow, Sunny Corner, Bastard Hill, and to Dark Corner for a lunch stop. Onwards to the Upper Turon and Sofala for a cold one and swim in the Turon River at Sofala, our camp for the night was Hill End with Dinner at the Royal Hotel and a few drinks later back at camp. We had some moderate 4wd over rock steep terrain and some tackled the infamous Jackass Hill in Sunny Corner. This is Part one Lithgow to Hill End.

For me it's still the Land Rover Defender 110. But these Toyotas look good. I love your videos you make me want to get on a plane and come to Australia. We have national parks in the US but so far I've never seen any as clean and well kept as yours down under. Thanks for sharing.

40 series my first 4wd and it was for work, in Portugal doing safaris to a company called zebra safari! Drove them years all open top never missed a beat fully loaded with 9 people!

Another beauty Stephan. Great footage of the old cruisers. I had a '69 shorty in the early 80s, with a 5 litre Chev and 4 speed box, to replace the 3 speed with no syncro in first! All the rage at the time. Loved the simplicity and toughness of them. Still love the idea of playing with one, just don't want to have to drive it too far! Really enjoyed watching them.
