Got feelings there, a lot of people that have been waiting for this video! Terrain tamer have taken time to develop these and they look great!!

Thanks mate really appreciate it, been looking at a set for my 61 and just needed a decent video explaining the pros and cons.

Great review mate, I'll have to take a second mortgage out and fit them to my HJ45. Worth pointing out (and you already know this mate), perfect time after that shakedown to re-tighten everything on the suspension ESPECIALLY the u-bolts on the axles to the springs! Cheers, Andy.

Spot on mate, it is very important to go over everything on re-check tension.

I put Terrain tamer springs in my 40 and pulled them back out after 4 months because they sagged back to the height of the 40 year old Toyota ones. I hope these last longer.

Very nice! Awesome review

Can you get them in a 2-4 inch lift?

Great review….any chance you’ll be putting these on your short wheelbase 40? I’d be very interested to see how they do on a shorty. Also, what side mirrors are those on Minty? I need to get a set of mirrors for my 40 and I really like how they look.
@40ChannelCruiser11 ай бұрын
I'll be some time off having my Shorty ready for driving, but I would also be keen to see how they go. I did a video on the mirrors a couple months back.

Interesting to know that these springs soften the long and narrow chassis impact for touring ? Fair to say..? Are those fancy rims from an 80 series?

Jayson, could you measure the distance between the front axle and bumpstops? Or between the front hub center and fender edge. Thanks!

Thanks for the video man do you think it will be good for my hj45 or ware do I get them thanks again

Would be great for the 45, check out Terrain Tamer Web page

How do you think they would go with a decent load on them. Do you think the extra leaf would come into play too much. They don’t seem to hang down as much as other parabolics so I don’t think they would get hung up but what do you think
@40ChannelCruiser11 ай бұрын
The clearance is the same as the original leaf spring. As for load, we had the rear loaded up with around 400kgs, and there was no difference in height or ride.

Did it lift the cruiser at all? Do they offer different leaf packs like 3 or 4 leaf for the back?
@40ChannelCruiser11 ай бұрын
My lift stayed the same, but I already had a 50mm lift. I don't think you can get different leaf packs at this stage.

How do they perform in the right lane?
@40ChannelCruiser11 ай бұрын
They would preform the same, just as good as left lane.

I’ve just fitted them to mads landcruiser HJ 47 landcruiser they good the front but they can not carry the weight for Touring an towing just be careful when making decisions since they rated to 400kg

I could never understand why they went away from parabolics in the first place

How does it compare to the oldman emu leafpacks?
@40ChannelCruiser11 ай бұрын
Very different, a lot smoother and quite.
@kevinmcgennan81105 ай бұрын
Two things. 1. The vehicle still looks 'jittery' on uneven terrain 2. I am still to fine anyone who explains why they are called 'parabolic'. I understand the leaves taper, but why does this make them 'parabolic'? A parabola is a graph with the equation Y = n multiplied by x squared.
@JG-ic3pyАй бұрын
Parabola just refers the particular shape of curve. It's used for anything that forms the same basic curve, hence also parabolic microphones, parabolic dishes, and parabolic mirrors.
@kevinmcgennan8110Ай бұрын
@@JG-ic3py But the shape is not parabolic, that's my point. A parabola is a shape defined by the equation y = n times x squared. The shape of these springs is not defined by this equation.
@shalininaicker11 ай бұрын
You failed to show the maximum flexibility of these springs.

I wanted to keep this video as simple everyday driving. I will put together something down the track with harder off-road 4x4 driving. This video took over 400km and hours of filming and editing. So, I ran out of time.

How do you think they’d go on a shorty? To be specific, a shorty with no load? I see you are running standard shackles, did they come in the kit? Any need for anti-inversion shackles? Have you got new body mounts in Minty?
