@00:35 ?? When I fly now, I let the Cabin Crew know that I have experience. EVEN if I fly Full Fare? (That is, not using my perks...preferrable, nowadays)... 2nd thing to mention? *WHEN* you board an airliner, experienced Flight Attendants will "size you up", meaning?? They will decide if you might be an "ABA" (able bodied assistant") in case of an emergency. Keep in mind? I am a retired pilot, so I tend to know some stuff...BUT? I always respected the Cabin Crew...they are fundamental to safety.

Cool video. My Dad was a pilot for 50+ years. I went into the simulator with him. I had my Jr pilots license and my Dad next to me. I've flown cessnas and a Supercub on floats (with my Dad). I landed a 747 in the simulator my first try! I was 14 or 15. I really did it myself. My brother crashed it. Lol! Having other pilots on board has crossed my mind too...I always feel better when i see extra crew travelling along. My Dad would commute to work on a flight from where we lived to fly out of different airports, depending on where he was stationed. So, there are extra pilots on board sometimes. Of course, he sat in the cockpit then sometimes so if they all ate the fish, well, glad the drone pilot is on board! I enjoy your adventures! I'm taking amtrak on my next vaca because of your videos 😁 I took Amtrak from Miami to DC once. It was fun. ✈ Nice landing! 🛬

What cool childhood Monica! Your dad sounds like a great guy 😀 I don’t think anyone is crossing their fingers that there’s a drone pilot on board. 😆😄 Can’t wait to hear about your Amtrak experience!

@@DownieLive Thanks. I miss my Dad so much. One summer, I came back home from my grandparents. It went like this. (I was 16yrs old) ▪︎Taxi from Salzburg to Train station (with grandma)▪︎Train to Munich Airport (with grandma) ▪︎Fly Munich to NY (first class upgrade all the way)▪︎ NY to Boston ▪︎ Boston to Bangor, ME ▪︎ Dad waiting, took Taxi to Lake ▪︎Float plane to another Lake ▪︎Get off on dock with suitcase, walk up the ramp and HOME 🙂 lol! My Dad could have drove to pick me up from the airport but he took the float plane! Lol. My mom was cooking. He told her he was was going to pick me up from the airport. She said okay, said goodbye, then she heard the plane engine start and was like, what?! 😂 My Dad was so adventurous. Once we bought a canoe at LL Bean and strapped it to the floatplane and we flew it home. My mom didn't like that! Now, When i travel, I fly nonstop flights as much as possible, hahaha

I had a copy of Flight Sim 1999. (Or something like that) I could fake taking off, just floor the engines and rotate at R1 and go airborn at R2. However landing was easy. Landing successfully was hard.

Congratulations on winning your wings, Captain Mike! I guess maybe you were inspired by Airplane! - which in turn must have been inspired by Arthur Hailey's radio play "Flight Into Danger" almost 70 years ago. Long story short: Both pilots on a YWG-YVR flight are incapacitated by food poisoning. The only available pilot: a passenger who had flown only single-engine fighters in World War II, 10 years earlier. With the help of a stewardess, as cabin attendants were then called, he landed roughly but safely at YVR.

You know something has gone wrong at ATC if they want a passenger to hand fly a 737 800. That equipment has auto land capability and I'm certain Vancouver has the necessary equipment for it. Auto pilot off? No, thanks, just give me vectors to the localizer, and find me a 737 pilot to walk me through setting it up for auto land. If I have to I will fly a pattern while I Google how to do it lol.

Yea your glideslope on ILS starts at 3500ft or higher from 20 miles away. Kinda dangerous sending a 737 down to 2000 ft and skirting the ocean for 20 miles then gunning the throttle 5 miles out to prevent a water landing. Never rely on your engines on final approach.

@@DownieLive Nor the spoilers, but you found the thrust reversers and pulled them. That should trigger the spoilers if they weren't already armed, which would cause them to auto-deploy on touchdown. If you landed without a fire, there should be no need to evacuate the passengers.
