They are debating whether ot not this airport should close now that the Elizabeth Line is open-easier access to Heathrow. Added the pollution this airport causes and the fact some big airlines don't use this airport, I believe the land it is on is better suited for much needed housing. Added bonus: skyscrapers can be built taller with this airport out of the way.

I heard that city airport(area) was headquarter of east india company in old time..is it true ?

That's right. There's some commemoration stones in the area and a few old buildings from that time.

I remember a flight from LCA to Edinburgh once. It was just 55 minutes, they served a pastrami bagel then a chocolate muffin and I had such terrible heartburn before we’d even landed. I think the carrier was KLM
