With the water it reminds me of a U.S. Aircraft carrier deck…. The Brits are loyal plane spotters so they have a lot of on this airport. 🇺🇸👍

@@dnhug I find it interesting how pilots tend to hold onto the dashboard or defroster vent during flights, causing wear and tear on the dashboard. It would be helpful if manufacturers or third-party companies could provide handles to alleviate this issue. While I understand the need to stretch and look over one's shoulder, prolonged use of the dashboard can cause it to wear out, similar to car dashboards exposed to sunlight. Not a criticism Dominic, but I've notice the large number of airplane dashboards worn out from viewing these and other videos. Best, Tony.

Have done that departure many times as a passenger in Embraers. Nice to see it from the front seat, though! It is quite a spectacular sight as you head for Canary Wharf. Many years ago, I was lucky enough to cross EGLC from time to time in light twins, piloted by friends. That was something I'll not forget. Thanks Dominic.

Lovely to see this high quality footage from my old neighbour LCY with great sound and chill narration. So much easier now there’s that dedicated taxiway instead of having to backtrack eh? 😅

Hallo Dominic Ich verneige mich vor Dir. Tolle Videos.
@dnhug
@dnhug 7 ай бұрын
Hey Thom! Dominic

Hi Dom! I fly this aircraft in the states. We are told we can’t do standing takeoffs because there is a big risk for a compressor stall, and as such it limits the airports we can bring the -300 version of the aircraft. Does this type of takeoff increase wear on the engines? Is there a limit for how many times this can be done on an aircraft per week/month/year?

Hey man, thank you for the comment and question! I have to be honest with you, I will go after that information with our maintenance crew and ask around. Il have a answer by tomorrow. Best regards and happy flights with your amazing bird!! I always enjoy when pilots from other countries enjoy my stuff. Cheers, Dominic

So, got the answer for you! We don’t have a maximum number of times we can do this procedure, and mostly it’s done using the differential brakes too, rather than the parking brake. No known issue regarding compressor stalls either here.. interesting to hear you are limited by that factor! Best regards and thank you for watching and commenting! Dominic

@@dnhug thanks Dom! As soon as we advance the throttles we are told to go off the brakes whether it be differential or the parking brakes. We wait at 55% N1 until we get to 20kts ground speed then advance them beyond 55% to get the autothrottles grab it. The rest is a normal takeoff. Interesting difference in SOP! I’ll talk to the maintenance supervisors next time I’m at work. Appreciate the response!
