@@LandisPlays its scary...but once u know how to deal with them, they r no real threat. stasis rifle is the best solution for everything...easily freeze them for a min and they r 0 threat. best way to stasis threats is to wait till they r closer, use an insta shot for a quick and cheap stasis, and then when they r an easy immobile target, charge a fully charged shot and disable them for a long time

I have a tip fpr using the stasis rifle. Rather than trying to land a fully charged shot, fire small shots at it until you hit it, then, once it's stuck, hit it with a full charge shot. This should work against every leviathan in the game, mostly because it's very hard to find two leviathans together in one place. Obviously, if you have led two leviathans in one place, or you try going through the void, this trick won't work very well.

Landis yeah that’s how I scanned it. It was the one just off the coast of the mountain island and i swam down, stasis rifled it, and scanned it with no problem. It was still scary though....

I know this was made a long time ago but Reaper leviathans after attacking you will deaggro for awhile. though they will keep yelling at you. this is pretty common subnautica stuff it usually pulls its punches to make sure you stay terrified Edit: forgot to mention Leviathan class predators are finite they will never respawn so if you do find a way to kill it that one's gone forever

I got the biggest scare of my life. I was behind the Aurora getting cyclops engine fragments looking out for reapers. I turned my back thinking I would hear him scream. But no he attacked me and then he screamed. I also found out that reapers are more prone to attack once you turn your back

In my next run I want to put my base close to the Dunes, at least within scanner room reaper territory. On a previous run I did test him out with all three vehicles, the Prawn is OK when you drill him in the face the first time but after that he just seems to get more pissed off and will destroy the suit, the Cyclops takes longer to destroy but is a lot of fun to watch explode .. hee! Of course we know the Reaper's attitude problem with the Seamoth but the zappy defense is good. The fauna I actually hate the most in this game are the Bonesharks, one is not too bad but a swarm in my opinion is way worse then one Reaper .. those things are just plain vicious and mean!

Once after i came out of the Aurora, I went to my Lifepod, I kept on hearing a roar behind me, ( i didn't know about the Reaper Leviathans back then, ), So when i was like 15 metres in front of the lifepod, The Reaper literally took my sea moth, Thrashed it around the safe shallows, Destroying it completley, Luckily i had the stasis rifle so i stasised him, I scanned him and the scan finished after the sastis wore off, It took my prawn suit under my lifepod, and destroyed it also, Ended up dying, And soon after i respawned, The lifepod literally shook, The Reaper Leviathan is a NIGHTMARE, It is still there, Next to my lifepod, Tried getting my mobile veichle bay back, It was a bad move, I now made a base on top of the mushroom tree, The safe shallows wasn't safe anymore, I named the safe shallows, Reaper Shallows, I never went back to my lifepod again, Even if it had a huge supply of titanium in the storage, 😢

Is it possible to finish the entire game without bumping across one? Some say that it could be done but others say otherwise. An alternative to everything if you can’t stand the sheer terror induced by that roar is to stay out of the crash zone, and when you want to get into the Aurora, line your Seamoth up for a straight beeline path into the front from outside the crash zone, and then full throttle it until you’re inside the ship/out of the crash zone. This minimises the chances of running into a Reaper due to you spending as little time as possible in their territory, to the point that I’ve not seen one in person for a long time after multiple playthroughs.

I was walking my cousin through how to get to the inside of the Arouca without seeing any reapers (he is deathly afraid of them) and it took me about 10 min of encouraging him to go for him to actually go, I thought it was funny! I find naming the reapers and treating them kind of like people makes them less scary. I named the reaper at the back of the aurora, Ron. I once fed him peepers and then I think the game got updated so that didn't seem to work. He then ate me several times and now I call him an asshole. I'll go and torment him a bit with the seamoth sometimes. Good fun. The reaper at the front of the ship in Ralph. The one in the dunes that I saw first is named Rick. Names starting with R seemed fitting.

Note : use floaters to help kill it. They go bazerk, only done in creative however. Though I managed to scare it to the safe shallows, it also helps locating it as it bobs on the surface

I hunt them with a prawnsuit with two drill arms and use the repair gun eg enforcement platform thereis a cave with what i call a pillar as you stand dead in the centre of and as the reaper comes in move to the side out of it's way and it becomes stuck or use that spot to repair the prawnsuit and the one in the dunes place a few platforms next to the geyser so you can hide under them to repair the prawnsuit

I have a question? Of course I could just find out for myself but thought I’d ask first. Can you perma kill The Reapers? Every other fauna seems it can. In one game I killed all the Crabsquids in the Blood Kelp, went back never saw another one. So if go to all the reaper zones and kill each one will that work the same ? Or do the Reapers respawn anyway?

Repulsion cannon is by far the most efficient way of getting away from the Reaper Leviathan. outside of the seamoth or Cyclops (from my experience)

If you have to go to the Auora or gun island, there’s a secret tab in the pause menu called “developer”. You can use it to teleport to the island or auora. After you finish what you needed to do, you can teleport to whatever biome you put your base in without having to encounter a reaper. But it’s considered cheating

Honestly, the Reaper Leviathan isn’t difficult to deal with, it’s just the appearance and sound it provides are so menacing and scary that it’s easy to unnerve you when you’re dealing with it.

Do they spawn after a certain like the ship blowing up or sunbeam because I went to island in creative and I went down and nothing was there i am playing switch virosn incase that has a Effect

To be more precise on the location: reapers are at the back and front of the aurora, so the sides are fine, and on the mountain area it’s behind the cannon so you can get there safe

I don’t care if they’re the slowest creature ever or whatever but they are still gonna scare the life out of me. Especially in the zones they’re in. Heck if I just see it very far on my cyclops enemy sonar just as a yellow long dot I’ll be scared as heck

Now this is an odd question, Do they respawn once you kill them? Does anyone know, I killed the Ghosts in the Lost River and I'm looking to clean up the rest of my neighborhood

Nah the reaper is notorious for using sea moths as chew toys

It looks like the Reaper Leviathan, for some, manages to singlehandedly transform Subnautica from the survival game it was up to this point to an outright horror game. I once read a comment of someone outright refusing to go anywhere near the areas the Reaper is in despite encountering many other species and the Leviathans of this game. It isn't hard for me to see why either, considering these guys opt to hang around the less visible and murkier areas of the map, with them attacking from the sides and behind you resulting them seeming like a bat out of hell. They are more than capable of easily killing you if you aren't careful, they are extremely durable on top of the small hit-box they have as you mention, and they often try to attack. A particularly horrific clip I saw that highlighted how terrifying they could be was when one Sandshark was bumping against the window of a Seamoth in a very deep area, deep enough that there was darkness all around. The very next moment from above a Reaper Leviathan swooped down and barely missed the Seamoth. No doubt that the Reaper is an icon of Subnautica.
