Trying to figure out which Lund model you’re in... rebel xl sport with a 90-115hp? Looks like a sweet inland boat.

So why do you keep the motor going with a fish on... it's just creating more drag on the fish...
@jeffmarsh6363 Жыл бұрын
William, keeping the motor in gear helps keep the line tight. Salmon can easily outswim the reel retrieve rate especially if you are trolling into the wind. If you are going with the wind, good chop on the water, you can either slow it down or put motor in Neutral. Hope this helps.

Love the NE Troller spoons... what size single hook do you use? I was considering changing out my fleet....

Sorry to hear you lost the brookies. One tip I do, is sharpen the hooks after each fish. Hooks need to be needle sharp to get through the tough jaws of Salmon. I check the sharpness by scratching my finger nail. Tight lines

I just moved to Maine. About to cook my first l.l salmon on the grill in foil!! Man your fish looked delicious

Just to let people know. Boiling vegetables loses all the nutritional value of the vegetable You have to steam the vegetables to keep the majority of its nutrients

Sucks about those brookies man they looked pretty nice. Do you have any tips for trolling small ponds, I've got a local one that artificial only but holds Brook Trout. I haven't ha d a lot of luck yet out there casting spinning tackle or trolling.
@mainetroutwhisperer4 жыл бұрын
holdenmc6 do you have a fish finder? That’s the best way. Find the bait and troll at that depth. In the spring you can get them in shallow water but they will go deeper as the temperature stratifies.
