This is a great video of how lures can be a great way to catch fish. I’ve fished Salmon all over Maine and never seen or been to this spot with all that fencing on the walk in. Where is this?

You may think about sharpening your hooks. Even a new hook can become dulled for a myriad of reasons, as you well know. Nice day catching fish.

how about adding another splt ring to the spoon?? or put a larger one on for a better hook set!

Awesome video! I might get some of those spoons!!! I absolutely love that portion of the river! I'm surprised that you didn't get more brookies in that last pool, when I was there I got dozens! I made a video on it called "Big Maine brook trout" as I got some lunkers, if you want to see it! When I was there though I did not get any salmon!

You never know what's on the menu there.. One week could be brookies and the next could be Browns..depends on the stocking really.. The salmon fishing has improved a ton over the last decade ..It started when the brown trout fishing declined with the old strain..The new strain is settling in OK..I still miss the big Browns of the old days up and down the Kenny;)

Awesome video. Definitely gonna try them lures up here in Scotia if they will ship. Gotta ask, what type of dip net is that? Looks like a rubber net with some kind of quick disconnect. Regards Mark

What category are there in I would like to pick a few up and do you have any small lakes that have hold over trout if you do how would you catch them
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
NOVAWOLF I just checked the website and it looks like they are out of casting spoons. If you are interested in the hand painted spoons from NET send them an email. Might be able to hook you up. Check out Everett Lures on FB and insta. They will be launching a website soon for a lot of trout casting gear.

Enjoying your videos. Beautiful fish you're catching! What type/brand waders do you use? Are your boots separate from the waders themselves or all one unit? Thanks.
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
Kyle Newton I use llbean kennebec series. And yes. Always separate. SIMMs makes a great pair as well.

where could i get some of these, how are they in creeks streams or small rivers like 20-25 feet wide?
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
TheBigBrutes probably not as good in a small creek unless you have some deep holes. I would stick to small spinners, but these spoons are perfect for a little big bigger streams/river with a bit of depth. Just so you can avoid getting snagged. You can check out North East Troller website in my description, but I'm not sure if he's making anymore. I may start making them myself very soon along with spinners in various colors and sizes.

They are landlocked salmon. They live in lakes and then swim up streams to spawn and back.

Hey man, love the videos. I'm pretty new to Maine, and have been doing a bunch of smallie and pike fishing, but would love to get more into fishing streams for trout and salmon. I've got a set of medium action spinning combos that work great for the bass, but what would you recommend for this type of fishing?
@mainetroutwhisperer5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Faasse you can use the mediums but they won’t be ideal. For throwing small lures you’ll need a longer light or ultralight rod.
@mainetroutwhisperer5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Faasse also I have a video of the best rod and reel trout combo for under $50. Just search for it.

It's the name of a big river not a secret spot you'd be giving up lol
@maineoutdoors98147 жыл бұрын
Gnorf pretty sure it's the Kennebec.
@James-uk4xi7 жыл бұрын
Hmm not sure about that. Unless it's just below moosehead. I don't know of anywhere on the kennebec there's browns, brookies, and salmon all together in such high numbers. Further south there's browns but not any brookies or salmon to speak of, in bingham there's rainbows, salmon, and the odd splake but not many brookies.. I could be wrong though I certainly have been before! It's actually kind of weird usually they focus on stocking just 1 of the 3 since each kind of fish compete with each other. You see brookies in most places they put salmon but not usually browns since they're more adaptable to warm water and no smelt to feed on.
@maineoutdoors98147 жыл бұрын
Gnorf pretty sure it's not the Penobscot. If it's not one of those 2 that narrows it down a fair bit just by looking at the size of the river.
