Landlord Poker

LANDLORD POKER GAME RULES
(Created by Tom Lewis, April 2024)
• High/Low Game (House Rule: Low must be 8 or better, wheel is best low)
• Use 2 (and only 2) from hand plus 3 cards in a straight line to make best 5-card hand
• Can ONLY use middle card if you are landlord OR have paid landlord rent
• Sequence
o Anti
o Deal 5 down cards down to each player, 3 x 3 grid face down community cards (SEE NEXT PAGE)
(center card is landlord card, turned sideways)
o Bet #1
o Uncover middle-outside cards (the flop)
o Bet #2
o Uncover opposing corner cards (the turn)
o Bet #3
o Uncover remaining opposing corner cards (the river)
o Bet #4
o Bid on landlord card
 Minimum bid is $1
 Anyone can bid, including anyone that folded (absentee landlord)
 Highest bidder wins and puts winning bid into bet pile
 Turn over landlord card
o Each player declares if planning to use landlord card (1 chip = no, 2 = yes)
o Anyone planning to use landlord card immediately pays landlord rent in the amount of landlord’s original winning bid
o Bet #5
o Declare high/low (1 chip = low, 2 = high, 3 = both ways)
o CARDS SPEAK: SPLIT HIGH AND LOW
o Must show low qualifier

We just added a twist to the game: The Landlord can set ANY rate for use of the center card, including taking it off the market completely, not allowing anyone else to use it!
