Landlord tax cuts: PM Luxon defends $800 million hole | TVNZ Breakfast

The change to allow landlords to claim the interest back off their mortgage payments will cost the Government $2.9 billion, $800 million more than National had calculated. The Government claims the tax cut will ease pressure on the rental market and pass savings down to renters.
But Christopher Luxon says it won't affect what he charges his tenants, because he doesn't have any mortgages on his properties.
