As a non-Nigerian who lived in Lagos for almost 14 years, I can say Landmark Beach Resort is one of the few efficient and lovely tourist havens along the coast of Nigeria. It took vision and courage to develop this integrated beach and it would be a great pity to see it die off because of the construction of the Lagos-Calabar beach road. I think the authorities owe it to Lagos to make sure it survives and thrives.

All totally absurd. There's no way a major highway will be built that close to the beachfront. Places like South Beach, FL have kept the main highways away from the beachfront. Firstly, this coastal highway thing is a vanity project that will never be fulfilled. The cost is prohibitive. The price they're advertising is rubbish. To build something like that will cost a minimum of $6 billion. The environmental damage that will be sustained based on the present plans will be protested by all major organizations. There's too much natural mangrove and other rich resources to be preserved. These idiots need to fix and widen the existing highway to Benin and make the necessary extensions. Lagos needs more facilities like Landmark to kickstart it's enormous hospitality potential.
