Great video! Quick tip: if you set your camera to a longer shutter speed (the exposure time) the lightsabers will leave longer trails when you swing them. I don't know how much control you have over that with this camera but either way, just thought I'd mention it.

You opened me a world! So i decided, after a lot of searches and your videos, to buy from Sabertrio on November 27th. Yesterday it finally arrived my first ever lightsaber: Sabertrio Senza. Lando if i wanna add a new soundfont, do i always have to change the ‘font_config.txt’ & ‘leds.txt’ files?

@@DencomProduct You *may* have to. I put that in asterisks because some of the font_config files that I had did not have the "blade timings" parameters, and some of them had the wrong "start_color" parameter. The sound fonts that come included with the saber will already have the "blade timings" parameters, but some of the new sound fonts that you can buy will not. Personally what I did was listen to the poweron.wav sound of the font that had no timings, then compare that poweron sound to a different font that DID have timings, then copy and paste those timings into the new font's font_config file. Most fonts use 180ms or 300ms ignition timings. If need be, I can help with yours once you receive your saber! :) Also, If you change the "start_color" parameter in the font_config file to "-1", then you can go into spectrum mode and fine-tune the color to your liking, and it will save it that way. You can also go into the colors.txt file and find the number that corresponds to each color, and type that into the "start_color" parameter. I personally did the -1 method, as I can change it on the fly instead of taking the SD card out of the saber to change the color if the color isn't to my liking. Using the -1 method insures that you won't be wrong, as you can simply change it by going into spectrum mode. The leds.txt file is *usually* included in most fontmakers' fonts, but there are a few, namely Kyberphonic, that do not include the leds.txt file. This isn't an issue though, as you can just copy the leds.txt file from any other sound font that already has it, and paste it into the font folder that doesn't have one. The leds.txt file corresponds to the tiny leds on the soundboard, not the leds in the blade itself. It has no effect on the soundfont or color, but rather it will save you from hearing a super loud beep when you select the font.

It's a technology called "smooth-swing". I have no idea how the creators of CFX or Proffie are able to program the boards to utilize said tech, but I sure am glad that there are people out there smarter than me that are able to do things like that lol

The same way a sport tracker is capable of recognizing movement of your arm. You can measure how fast and in which direction an electronic device moves. My guess is they only need an accelerometer and then map the sounds to its range. It's probably deceptively simple.

something about The Second's ignition and retraction is terrifying to me. the way it so suddenly and loudly ignites, contrasting with its quiet and almost drawn out retraction. it makes me imagine fighting someone with a saber like that in an otherwise pitch black room, when they suddenly retract it as they back away, leaving you in the complete darkness, so they can reposition themselves and get the drop on you with that startling ass ignition. i think to create the saber with the goal of complete intimidation and psychological harm though, you would need to combine Unstable v2's crunchy, almost fan-like sound with the vader one's (forgot which) super slow ignition. man, i need to hop in FL studio or something and try to make sounds like this for the hell of it.

I know there's a guy (I believe his name is Pitt Force Five) that does Galaxy's Edge Lightsaber Conversions from the basic soundboard inside those sabers, to Neopixel sabers containing CFX boards or Proffie or whichever. If you plan to get a Neopixel saber one day, it's worth checking that out before buying a new one!

Well since the lightsabers from Galaxy's Edge can only be bough there it's quite easy to sell it on Ebay without losing much money if you really want to switch to a Neopixel one. the only problem with fonts is typically the cfx guys tend to not have as many sounds for the proffie version and vice versa. plus they usually don't sort into folders which is optimal for proffie. sometimes i have to spend my time going through the "proffie ready" files renaming them.

You would need to buy a Neopixel-installed lightsaber, with either a Crystal Focus 10 (CFX) or Proffie soundboard. My exact saber is a Sabertrio Neopixel Vektra, in Matte Black Anodize finish, with a 32" heavy-grade blade. My saber store recommendations are Sabertrio, Pachstore, Korbanth, or Vader's Vault, and then to achieve the styles (aka the soundfonts), you would need to purchase them from SaberFont.com, Kyberphonic, Repulse Custom Sounds, etc. for between $7-12 per soundfont!

FORGOT TO MENTION: Some of the fonts I added had no "Blade Timing" parameters added to each font's configuration file, meaning that the blade ignition timings were completely off. I had to manually go in and configure the power-on timings in milliseconds, and if you choose to buy some of these fonts, you may also need to do the same. It would have been unfair for them to take on new orders, and have those customers wait an incredibly long time since they weren't finished with earlier orders yet, so they decided to finish up the orders, so that new customers will be able to save up some money, have the chance to order a new hilt design at the end of August, and get their saber in a timely manner!

I've seen just as good sabers going for twice what you paid. Seriously $550 for that is a damn good price. Awesome quality and the colors are very vibrant. If I had the money I would go with one of these with the extra effects. I bought a pretty decent Ultra Saber a couple Xmas back for $230 but in retrospect I should have waited for one of these. I can't change colors or sounds and it's not neo-pixel for the blade to look like it's retracting. Love the way yours does that. Still great for dueling though!
