If you have a rear view camera it's already in the menus to activate on the fly. Don't need a secret screen to activate.

mine only gets activated when putting vehicle into reverse. how do you activate it on the fly?

You do with mine… only way to get rear screen is reverse or doing it the way this bloke has demonstrated. Cars a HSE 2010.

I don't have a rear view camera, and I need one because I trail boats and stuff regularly. Should I get an after market camera or is it possible to install an OEM and take advantage of this feature?

It is possible to fit an OEM camera. I’ve never done it myself but I’ve seen it done. It’s not easy or cheap! It involves a new harness at the back and some down the front I think. Personally I would just get an after market camera and fit it up high. Or even a wireless camera that you could attach to the trailer?!?!? A bit like the remote camera you get on the RR.

Hi Dave. I bought a 2010 Range Rover S/C a week ago. How do I switch on the TV on my front screen? Also, is it possible to watch DVD's on rear screen without remote?

Hi Gert, if you have the TV module installed, there should be an option on the main screen to switch it in. However if you are in the UK it might be useless as we have changed from analog to digital. As for the rear screens, you should be able to control the dvd without a remote. However again you have to have the option installed at the factory. If it’s aftermarket, you might have to plug in your own DVD player. I once had a RR with a PlayStation fitted, drove it for 8 months before finding it tucked in by the rear lights behind the panel.

Can the surround cameras be switched to all come on at same time when vehicle is put into reverse, like other vehicles with surround cameras Thanks

I think you need the tv module hardware in place. It’s not a software switch affair.

There is no dipstick on the discovery 4. It is digital and you will find it next to the speed dial and rev counter

You can, but unfortunately I don’t have the camera. But yes you can activate it whilst your driving. (Not recommended however, it’s a bit distracting)!
